Justice for Darfur

Today we will talk about Darfur and international justice. Judges at the International Criminal Court have ordered the arrest of President Omar Hassan al-Bashir of Sudan for alleged atrocities committed in the province of Darfur. In response, the Sudanese leader vowed never to succumb to “outside pressure”. Russia and some other countries fear that the arrest warrant is likely to further complicate the debate over how to solve the crisis in Darfur. The question remains - how to stop violence in Darfur…We’ll be talking about it with Mikhail Margelov, the newly appointed Special Representative of the Russian President for Sudan.
