Vehicle thefts, robberies drive rise in Canadian crimes

New data from Statistics Canada shows vehicle thefts and robberies are driving a surge in number of crimes seen in Canada in 2022.

But these types of crimes were not the only rise seen, with the agency finding the volume and severity of violent crime in the country was at its highest level since 2007.
