00:00 >> Hey Marjorie Green, glad that
00:01 you're tuning into the show.
00:03 I have been very critical of you in
00:05 the past, implying, admittedly,
00:07 based on what you've said and
00:09 done, that you don't seem like
00:11 a particularly curious person.
00:13 You don't seem like a lifelong
00:15 learner.
00:16 You seem to be very confident in
00:17 your ignorance about a number of
00:19 different topics.
00:20 And yet, you are tuning into this
00:22 program, which shows a willingness,
00:24 albeit potentially just briefly,
00:26 to expose yourself to other
00:28 perspectives and perhaps learn
00:29 something.
00:30 Now, how do I know that
00:32 the representative is watching?
00:34 Well, she tweeted about us
00:35 yesterday and did a little review.
00:37 Generally, I prefer these reviews
00:39 to come in the form of iTunes or
00:40 something like that.
00:41 But I'll take it,
00:42 I'll take it in a tweet.
00:43 Sorry, an ex.
00:45 Anyway, she exed this.
00:48 I just watched the damage report
00:50 for the first time.
00:51 Maybe for the first time.
00:52 We can't confirm or deny that.
00:54 Okay, maybe.
00:55 These two admitted atheists,
00:56 that's me and Francesca Fiorentini,
00:58 are attacking President Trump about
01:00 his Christian faith while claiming
01:02 to hold moral beliefs.
01:03 Now, there's a lot that Marjorie
01:04 Greene brings up in this, so
01:05 we're going to have to take it one
01:07 bit at a time.
01:08 I love that she focuses on
01:10 the fact that we're atheists as if
01:12 we didn't lead in that,
01:14 as if she did investigative
01:16 reporting or something.
01:17 Yes, I'm an atheist.
01:18 I've said that many times on
01:20 the show.
01:20 Francesca has as well.
01:22 We don't find that to be a bad
01:23 thing, a shameful thing at all.
01:25 I don't know why you think that
01:26 I'm helping you win an argument,
01:27 but okay.
01:28 To be clear, we did not attack
01:30 President Trump about his
01:31 Christian faith.
01:33 It is impossible for us to do that
01:35 because I don't believe he has
01:37 Christian faith.
01:38 We were criticizing him for
01:39 condescending to Christians who
01:41 look up to and support him.
01:43 That's what we were doing.
01:44 We took a guy who once again showed
01:47 a complete lack of ability or
01:48 willingness to even pretend to
01:50 think seriously about Christianity,
01:53 Jesus, or God.
01:54 To be asked a question by a woman,
01:56 a conservative woman who clearly
01:58 cares a lot about religion.
02:00 And he spins this nonsensical
02:02 couple of paragraphs about his
02:04 legal troubles, not even able to
02:06 fake being a true Christian.
02:08 We were not attacking his
02:09 Christian faith.
02:09 We were standing up for
02:10 conservative Christians who we
02:12 might disagree with on a lot of
02:13 different stuff.
02:14 But we think they at least deserve
02:16 to not be lied to by obvious
02:18 charlatans.
02:19 And by the way, Marjorie Greene,
02:21 I have no doubt that you are more,
02:23 at least on some level in some form
02:24 committed to Christianity than
02:26 Donald Trump is.
02:27 It would be impossible for
02:29 almost anyone not to be.
02:30 But the fact that you could watch
02:32 his response and not have a problem
02:34 with it, that you could see all of
02:36 the different ways that he's
02:38 comported himself throughout his
02:40 life, and the fact that you don't
02:42 have a problem with that,
02:43 I think that's something that
02:45 should bother regular conservative
02:47 Christians as well.
02:48 And we're going to turn to the
02:49 other stuff that you brought up
02:51 because you apparently were
02:52 familiar with it.
02:52 Adrienne, I'm not sure if you're
02:54 familiar with the response from
02:56 Trump, but we've seen this in
02:58 the past where he's asked simple
02:59 stuff like, which do you prefer,
03:01 the old or the New Testament?
03:03 And he doesn't even care enough to
03:05 pretend to have an answer to it.
03:07 >> Yeah, you know what,
03:08 I really would have thought that
03:10 the whole two Corinthians thing
03:11 would have signaled to people that
03:13 this individual may not necessarily
03:15 be as committed to their walk with
03:17 Christ as they profess to be.
03:19 But it seems like people want to
03:21 continue to be stuck on stupid.
03:23 I just really don't understand how
03:25 individuals who subscribe to this
03:27 whole evangelical Christian
03:29 ideology can't recognize someone
03:31 who doesn't, who isn't walking
03:33 the walk, who isn't talking
03:34 the talk, but is largely looking
03:36 for ways to fill their coffers, is
03:38 looking for co-sign, for votes, for
03:40 all sorts of things that'll get
03:42 voters to support and uplift them.
03:44 But not actually engaging in any
03:46 of the things that are indicia of
03:48 Christianity.
03:49 It's so incredibly clear.
03:51 It's just, I don't know,
03:53 it's so gaslighting, wrong, lying.
03:56 I would almost think Judas is much
03:58 far more Christian than
03:59 Donald Trump, but that's just me.
04:02 >> Yeah, by the way, it's not like
04:04 Christians weren't warned the idea
04:06 that some sort of false savior
04:08 could come up is in their sacred
04:10 books, not in mine.
04:11 And when that false savior rises up,
04:13 what are we supposed to believe,
04:15 that they're not going to have any
04:18 acolytes defending them?
04:20 No, they're going to be other
04:22 religious grifters who are
04:24 apologizing for their vicious
04:26 tendencies and immoral values.
04:28 I'm not pointing any figures at
04:30 members of Congress or anything.
04:31 I'm just saying if I were
04:32 a conservative Christian,
04:34 I'd have a problem.
04:34 And the problem wouldn't be with me,
04:37 a guy who is 100% transparent about
04:39 my religious values as well as my
04:40 political values.
04:42 I'd be more worried by the people
04:44 clearly only worship money, status,
04:46 wealth, power, but pretend to give
04:48 a damn about the religion that you
04:51 hold so dear.
04:51 We're going to move on to our next
04:53 comment.
04:54 They only attacked Trump and
04:56 Republicans and never defended any
04:58 Democrat policies.
05:00 So first of all, yes, in that
05:01 segment, we didn't focus on
05:03 Democrat policies because we were
05:05 responding to him answering
05:07 the question.
05:08 We weren't breaking down his
05:10 platform, which he barely has
05:11 anyway.
05:12 Do we sometimes defend
05:13 Democrat policies?
05:14 Sure, but I love that sentence.
05:16 From you Marjorie Greene because it
05:18 demonstrates once again on area of
05:20 ignorance that you can perhaps
05:22 move past.
05:22 You seem to be laboring under
05:24 the delusion that our show is just
05:27 blindly supportive of the Democrats.
05:29 Now I get why you would believe
05:31 that there are a lot of shows that
05:32 are in the same way that there are
05:34 a lot of shows that are blindly
05:35 supportive of whatever the
05:37 Republicans do.
05:38 Do you understand that that's not
05:39 the way that it has to be?
05:40 That we can actually take a look at
05:42 what people do, the promises they
05:43 make, where they make good in it,
05:45 where they fall short, evaluate
05:47 the actual policies and
05:48 what effect they're likely to have.
05:50 Later on what effect they have
05:51 actually had.
05:52 And then decide on a case by case
05:54 basis whether we support something.
05:56 Do you get that in principle,
05:58 that's the way that it could work?
06:00 I do sometimes support
06:01 the Democrats, but not all the time.
06:03 You probably think that I love
06:05 Joe Biden or whatever.
06:06 Do you get that I don't?
06:08 That lots of progressives are not
06:10 actually gigantic fans of
06:12 the establishment Democrats?
06:14 Is that not a thing that you
06:14 can grasp?
