00:00 Good afternoon to our fellow countrymen.
00:06 This is the latest from Baguio EGAI.
00:08 It is now 11am from the Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:14 Earlier at 9.30am, Typhoon EGAI landfalled again on the Dalupiri Island of Aparic, Cagayan.
00:24 This is its second landfall because its first landfall was at 3am.
00:30 It was on the island of Fuga, Aparic, Cagayan.
00:35 Typhoon EGAI is still being experienced in a large part of Northern Luzon,
00:42 particularly in the extreme northern Luzon.
00:45 That is why we are preparing our fellow countrymen.
00:47 We are hoping that by this time,
00:49 those who are in the evacuation center will be safe and those who need to evacuate will be far away from coastal areas.
00:56 Meanwhile, the remaining part of Central Luzon, Central Luzon and Southern Luzon
01:03 are still experiencing rainfalls,
01:06 which are caused by the outer rain bands of Typhoon EGAI and will be the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
01:13 But our tropical cyclone windsignal is still high in many parts of our country
01:18 and we will be dealing with it one by one later.
01:21 Now, we also have LPA outside our area of responsibility in the northern part of the northeastern portion of Mindanao.
01:30 But since it is still far away, the uncertainty is still high.
01:34 But our advice is to stay tuned for updates on the weather disturbance in the Pacific Ocean.
01:44 Meanwhile, here is the satellite animation of the landfall of EGAI in Dalupiri Island.
01:51 Earlier this morning at 3 am, it landfalled in Fuga and afterwards, it was swept by the waves.
01:58 And now, it landfalled here in the northwest portion of the island, here in Dalupiri Island of Alpari, Cagayan.
02:09 Based on our latest track, the Typhoon EGAI will run almost northwestward or north-southwest.
02:18 And by 24 hours tomorrow morning, we expect that it will be outside our area of responsibility.
02:30 Tomorrow, we expect that the EGAI will be 260 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
02:40 And by 48 hours, it will be 655 kilometers west-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
02:47 It will be outside our area of responsibility and in the southeastern part of China.
02:53 Here is signal number 4, still high in the northern portion of Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands, northern portion of Apayau, and northern portion of Ilocos Norte.
03:05 Signal number 3, still high in Batanes, rest of Cagayan, rest of Apayau, northern portion of Calinga, the northern portion of Abra, rest of Ilocos Norte, northern portion of Ilocos Sur.
03:20 Signal number 2, in Isabela, rest of Calinga, mountain province, Ifugao, Binguet, rest of Abra, rest of Ilocos Sur, La Union, northern and western portions of Pangasinan.
03:34 Signal number 1, still high in Aurora, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, rest of Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Maguinsabatan.
03:49 Signal number 1, in Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, northern portion of Batangas, northern and central portion of Quezon, Pulillo Islands, Camarines Norte, northern portion of Camarines Sur, and northern portion of Catanduanes.
04:07 Meanwhile, storm surge is still possible due to the presence of sea typhoon Egay here in coastal areas of northern Luzon, particularly in coastal areas of Batanes, Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands, and in Ilocos Norte, and portions of Isabela and Ilocos Sur.
04:28 These red shaded coastal areas are the ones where more than 3 meters height of storm surge is possible.
04:35 That's why we are continuously warning our fellow countrymen not to stay near coastal areas.
04:44 Meanwhile, for our rainfall forecast for today, the strongest rainfall that can be received is the northern portion of Cagayan, along with Babuyan Islands, northern portion of Apayau, Saabra, Ilocos Norte, and Ilocos Sur.
05:03 Again, the expected rainfall is high and strong due to the presence of typhoon Egay.
05:11 Meanwhile, for Batanes, northeastern portion and central portion of Cagayan, rest of Apayau, western portion of Calinga, western portion of Mountain Province, Binguet, and La Union, the expected rainfall is 100 to 200 millimeters.
05:28 So, the rainfall is still strong and it can cause flooding, landslides, or landslides.
05:37 Meanwhile, the 50 to 100 millimeters of rainfall can be experienced in the rest of Cagayan, rest of Calinga, rest of Mountain Province, western portion of Ifugao, western portion of Nueva Vizcaya, in Pangasinan, and in Sambales.
05:52 So, we are continuously warning our fellow countrymen here because the rain will continue to fall or the direct effect of typhoon Egay.
06:04 We have a rainfall forecast based on our GSM model.
06:07 In the next three days, we will notice that our weather will gradually improve by the third day.
06:13 But for today, it is still critical and crucial because in Ilocos region, along with Cordillera and Administrative Region, even in some parts of Central Luzon and in the western section of Southern Luzon, the heavy rainfall is still continuous.
06:29 This northern Luzon, particularly in Ilocos region and CAR, is because of the direct effect of typhoon Egay, along with the western section of Central Luzon.
06:38 But here in Occidental Mindoro, Batangas, Cavite, and even here in Metro Manila, the heavy rainfall that we are forecasting that there are chances of rain is because of the Southwest Monsoon.
06:52 Meanwhile, tomorrow, we still expect that there will be heavy rainfall, moderate to at times heavy rains, here in Bataan, Sambales, and especially here in Occidental Mindoro.
07:05 So, if we will notice now, until tomorrow, the rain we are expecting is still high in Occidental Mindoro.
07:12 We are still warning the people there, especially in the low-lying areas because we have been raining for a few days here, especially in the Southwest Monsoon, Oaxaca.
07:22 Then, in the remaining part of Ilocos region, we are still expecting light to moderate rains until tomorrow.
07:29 Then, by third day, our weather has improved in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Administrative Region, even in a large part of Ilocos Norte.
07:41 But the western section of Central Luzon will still experience moderate to heavy rains by Friday.
07:48 This includes Occidental Mindoro where we will experience light to moderate rainfalls.
07:56 Our Gain Warning has also increased in a large part of our country.
08:03 In the whole of Luzon, our Gain Warning has increased, including a large part of Visayas because of the combined effect of Typhoon Egay and Southwest Monsoon Ojabagat.
08:14 So, small vehicles can still not cross the sea, it is not advised yet because the condition of our ocean will be unstable.
08:27 Meanwhile, for heavy rainfall that was caused by Southwest Monsoon, the occasional and monsoon rains in the next three days are still possible in the western portion of Central and Southern Luzon, including Visayas.
08:40 And again, we are always reminding our countrymen that flooding and landslides are possible, especially in areas that are highly susceptible to this hazard.
08:56 We have identified this hazard in hazard maps and in localities that experienced considerable amounts of rainfall over the past several days.
09:04 So, that is the latest from Pag-asa. Have a good afternoon.
