Creamline barges back into the finals


Creamline setter Jia De Guzman is glad to have outside hitter Alyssa Valdez back in the finals, giving her another legitimate scorer to toss the ball to. Regaining her mojo after she was sidelined by an injury, Valdez scored 11 points and 11 receptions to help Creamline defeat Vietnam's Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh, 25-23, 25-23, 25-17, at the PhilSports Arena on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, in the round robin to semifinals. The victory raised the defending champion Cool Smashers record to 4-0 in the semis and clinched them the first finals berth in the conference.
