00:20 These insects own their name for their black and white color.

00:24 These insects were first discovered in the coastal region of central Chile in the year

00:30 After that, very few scientists gave it attention until recently when some few studies of it

00:35 were done.

00:36 The females are often wingless, huge and have many furs on its body.

00:41 These insects have a lovely appearance but have one nasty sting that could get viciously

00:47 painful on your skin.

00:50 This is why they are also called cow killer since they are capable of knocking out a cow

00:55 or other animals that are much larger than they are.

00:59 They also have a tough exoskeleton that helps them while invading their prey's nests and

01:05 also in retaining moisture and since they mostly occupy dry areas.

01:14 The Blue Parrotfish The blue parrotfish is an almost completely

01:19 bright blue species of parrotfish.

01:22 They are the only uniformly blue species of fish currently known.

01:26 The name parrotfish refers to the beak-like jaws and fused teeth of the species in the

01:32 These teeth are used to scrap algae off of rocks and corals.

01:36 Strangely, they also possess what are known as pharyngeal teeth which are essentially

01:41 just teeth in the throat.

01:44 Parrotfishes use these teeth to grind rocks that they ingest into sand, which is then

01:49 eliminated creating new sand.

01:52 This actually leads to the formation of small islands and sandy beaches in the Caribbean.

01:57 Individual parrotfishes can produce as much as 200 pounds of sand per year.

03:43 In this territory, they might have one or two preferred spots, such as a particular

03:48 tree branch, from where they call and display to visiting females.

03:54 Females only accept a male bird of paradise if he is most attractive and beautiful than

04:05 Diphosa Diphosa is the largest carnivorous mammal

04:11 They can reach nearly 6 feet in length with half of that due to their long tails.

04:20 Diphosa have slender bodies, muscular limbs, and short, reddish-brown coats.

04:26 They have small, cat-like heads, short, dog-like muzzles, and large, rounded ears.

04:35 The Diphosa's genus name, Cryptoprocta, is inspired by how its anus is concealed by an

04:43 It comes from the Greek for "hidden crypto" and "anus procta."
