Transport strike and PUV modernization | Politics as usual

Authorities say contingency plans are in place for the planned transport strike of some groups during and even after President Bongbong Marcos' State of the Nation Address on Monday.

The protest seeks to scrap the government's modernization program for public utility vehicles which will eventually phase out the traditional jeepneys.

But the state transport regulator says the program will be done in phases to give stakeholders enough time to cope. It also warns those who will participate in the disruption of public transport services.
