The Cincinnati Reds averted a fourth-straight defeat on Monday when umpires suspended play due to rain, but the club's grounds crew still took an 'L' nonetheless.

With rain pouring down in the eighth inning, a member of the Great American Ballpark crew slipped and fell while unfurling the tarp with the Reds and visiting Giants knotted at two apiece.

Unfortunately for him, the rest of the crew was largely unaware and continued to pull the tarp towards the third-base line, completely enveloping their coworker.

A rescue effort quickly commenced and the abandoned crew member was reunited with his colleagues.

Umpires suspended play on Monday in Cincinnati after a nearly two-hour rain delay. The game will resume on Tuesday at 5:40 pm ahead of a nightcap at 7:10.
