Britain joins Asia-Pacific trade group with Japan and 10 other nations

Britain officially becomes part of the Asia-Pacific trade group, including Japan and 10 other nations, marking its biggest trade deal since leaving the EU over three years ago. The bloc, known as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), encompasses over 500 million people and 15 percent of the global economy. The decision was made during a meeting in New Zealand after two years of negotiations, with Britain being the first new member to join since the bloc's establishment in 2018.
