In 1987, Tendulkar went to MRF pace Foundation to be picked his as a Fast Bowler, Dennis Lille saw him bowl but wasn’t impressed by his bowling, Later that week he saw him smash decent bowlers around the park and told him to forget the bowling and just bat. But as fate would have it he turned out to be quite good with the ball as well. Whenever he got the opportunity, he gave it his all. He always felt that he could contribute with the ball as well,
But tragically, his bowling talent couldn’t be utilized to its full potential due to a debilitating tennis elbow which threatened to cut his career short so he was consciously kept away from bowling for the most part in his later years.
Despite the tennis elbow and other injuries, Sachin never lost his passion for bowling. Even in domestic matches and exhibition games, he continued to prove his worth as a genuine all-rounder and took 200 wickets in his International career.
