The island of Rab is located in the Kvarner Bay region in Croatia and, with around 2,500 hours of sunshine per year, is one of the sunniest parts of Europe. The Germans' favorite island has an area of 91 km² and is only approx. 640 km away from Munich. The good ferry connection gives you very good connections to the mainland and during the hot summer months there is a lot to do on the island of Rab.
The main town on the island of Rab is the town of the same name, Rab, with its districts of Mundanije, Palit, Barbat and Banjol. The old town of Rab has numerous sights and will take you back in time. Around the settlements there are beautiful beaches and dreamlike bathing bays.
But the seaside resort of Lopar in the northern part of the island is also very well known thanks to the long sandy beach of San Marino, which is also known as paradise beach. Families with children are particularly enthusiastic about Lopar because the beach is very gently sloping and the children can play in the water in peace.
Other places on the island of Rab are Supetarska Draga, which is a typical fishing village, and Kampor with its famous Eufemia Monastery. But the hotel complex Suha Punta with its 2 hotels is also very popular.
