Heavy rain in southwest Japan causes floods and landslides

Torrential rain in southwest Japan has caused two fatalities and forced tens of thousands to evacuate. The Meteorological Agency of Japan described this as the region's most severe rain event ever recorded, with heavy rainfall causing rivers to overflow and triggering fatal landslides.
