On July 10, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray said the Election Commission (EC) does not have powers to change the name of a party. Thackeray said they can allot an electoral symbol to a party but cannot change the name of a party, reported PTI. In February 2023, EC allotted the name ‘Shiv Sena' and its poll symbol ‘bow and arrow’ to the group led by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde. The Supreme Court will hear the matter on July 31. Thackeray has made a plea against the EC's order. Watch the video to know more.
