Kyiv Claims Advances In South Of Bakhmut, Russia Lost Half Of Its Combat Capability- - Ukraine War
  • 10 months ago
Ukraine is making gains south of Bakhmut while facing stiff resistance to the north of the city, country’s Deputy Defence Minister said. Russia is “throwing all its forces” to try and stop Kyiv’s advance in the area, Hanna Maliar said. She added that Moscow’s soldiers are pushing in the direction of Lyman, Svatove and Bakhmut. The Ukrainian Military’s General Staff also said Ukraine was consolidating positions around Bakhmut. A Ukrainian soldier has told CNN why Ukraine's counteroffensive progress has been slower than expected. The soldier, identified by his call sign “Legion”, said that the actions of Kyiv’s troops were “quite successful and effective”. The frontlines in southern and eastern Ukraine have not changed much over the past months. Meanwhile, UK Chief Admiral Sir Tony Radakin said that Russia had lost nearly half its combat capability in Ukraine. Radakin described the invasion of Ukraine as "a catastrophic failure for Russia" and praised the Ukrainian military's gains. Watch this video to know what's latest in the Ukraine-Russia conflict.
