Swimming pools are a popular place for relaxation. Those who have ever visited a swimming pool are familiar with the addition of chlorine to disinfect water. Even the tap water in our homes is chlorinated. However, a recent study conducted at Lund University in Sweden has shed light on an alternative approach to water purification and has shown that the use of chlorine for these purposes may not be necessary.
