: "While in the Gray Whale Breeding/Nursery Lagoon in Mexico, two juvenile male whales came straight to our boat to play. They wanted us to pet them and they had many barnacles on their heads. Whales and barnacles have a symbiotic relationship. Barnacles are also used as weapons when battling predators. They are sharp and can cut and injure a predator badly."
