There was a major sewage incident in February 2023 and Southern Water's tankers used the car park so that they could carry out their work. Southern Water agreed to repair the surface damage to the car park but Hastings Borough Council has closed the car park after the repair because they are not happy with the surface and say that vehicles cannot use it safely.
