Labour call for direct help for mortgage holders

Rachel Reeves says a Labour government would “provide instructions” for banks and lenders to help mortgage holders during times of high interest rates. The shadow chancellor says lenders should move customers onto interest only and longer term mortgages and halt repossession orders for six months as part of a plan to protect people who have seen “mortgage payments go through the roof”.
