LAHORE: Indian media has claimed that BCCI rejected PCB's request to change World Cup venues. PCB raised objection on the basis of data and demanded that the venue of the World Cup match against Afghanistan in Chennai and Australia in Bangalore be changed, the match against Afghanistan should be held in Bangalore and against Australia in Chennai. Pakistan's position is that Chennai's pitch will be favorable for spinners where Afghan slow bowlers will create problems, so the match against Kangaroos should be scheduled there.
On the other hand, PCB's participation in the match against India in Ahmedabad was subject to government permission, PCB informed its opinion on venues on Thursday. According to Indian media, the objection of pitches supporting batting or bowling is not a strong reason, so far ICC has not made any changes in the proposed venues.
It should be remembered that it is a part of the protocol to know the opinion of the member countries on the World Cup schedule and venues. Changes are possible only on the basis of security issues. This happened in the T20 World Cup 2016 in India. It is possible to think about security. It should be noted that the ICC has not officially announced the World Cup schedule yet, PCB Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi said in a press conference in the past few days that the decision to participate in the World Cup will be made in the light of the government's instructions.
