Hunter Biden to Plead Guilty in Tax and Gun Case
  • 10 months ago
Hunter Biden, the son of President Biden, has reportedly reached a tentative agreement with federal prosecutors to plead guilty to two minor tax crimes and admit to a gun charge. The proposed deal, which still needs to be approved by a federal judge, is expected to keep him out of jail. Under the agreement negotiated with Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, Hunter Biden would plead guilty to two misdemeanor tax charges and would likely receive probation. The combined tax liability for 2017 and 2018 is approximately $1.2 million, which Hunter Biden has reportedly already paid back. Additionally, Hunter Biden would enter a Pretrial Diversion Agreement for the gun charge, allowing it to be removed from his record if he completes the diversion program, typically offered to nonviolent offenders with substance abuse issues. Hunter Biden's lawyer stated that he takes responsibility for the tax mistakes made during personal struggles and addiction and looks forward to moving forward and continuing his recovery.
