World Refugee Day: Ukrainian refugees in Manchester graduate from a course helping them get used to their new lives in the UK
  • 10 months ago
A group of Ukrainian refugees have been graduating from a course designed to help them fit into their new lives here in the UK.

Global humanitarian aid organisation International Rescue Committe has been helping refugees rebuild their lives and become active members of the community. On May 26 the first class of graduating Ukrainian refugees in Manchester celebrated the end of their programmes with a ceremony at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce in the city centre.

International Rescue Committee wants to highlight the positive impacts refugees bring to society through resilience, skills, innovation and unique perspectives ahead of World Refugee Day tomorrow (June 20).

World Refugee Day is an international day organised by the United Nations designed to celebrate and honour refugees from around the world.

We headed down to the Chamber of Commerce on the graduation day of a class of Ukrainian refugees to speak to them about their experience and learn more about the International Rescue Committee courses.
