India has been witnessing rampant growth in drug consumption, particularly among the youth. The Indian government informed the Supreme Court 14 that around 15.8 million children aged between 10 and 17 years are addicted to substances in India. The National Drug Dependence Treatment Center has found that a significant population of the country is affected by substance abuse disorders. The survey was carried out between 2017 and 2018, released to the public in 2019, and presented to the Supreme Court last year. The survey was conducted in all the states and union territories of the country in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment,10 medical institutes and 15 NGOs. To combat the issue of substance abuse the government has now come up with a campaign. Taking this issue head-on is the Delhi Police which has announced a campaign titled, "India Says No To Drugs" or Nasha Mukti Abhiyan.
