NDRF personnel deployed in Diu amid cyclone Biparjoy

A team of NDRF have been deployed in the coastal areas of Diu since June 11 in view of cyclone Biparjoy. A total of twenty-two rescuers who are capable of handling every situation have been deployed to rescue locals and provide them with medical assistance.

Earlier on June 12, an alert was issued for the coastal area of Gujarat’s Mandvi. On June 11, high tides were witnessed at coastal areas of Dwarka as the cyclone intensified into a ‘very severe’ cyclonic storm. Expectedly, it will cross the Gujarat coast on June 15.

“A team of NDRF has been deployed in the coastal area of Diu since June 11 in view of Cyclone Biparjoy. This team is capable of handling every situation. There are around 22 rescuers in the team,” said Amit Kumar Jakhar, Officer 6th Battalion, NDRF.
