Cyclone Biparjoy has intensified into an \"extremely severe cyclonic storm\". Consequently, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for coastal regions in Gujarat. Cyclone Biparjoy also triggered heavy rainfall in parts of Mumbai. The cyclonic storm is likely to make landfall between Gujarat's Kutch and Karachi in Pakistan on June 15.
