The illegitimate son of an African slave and a French plantation owner, Joseph Bologne rises to improbable heights in French society as a celebrated violinist-composer and fencer, complete with a love affair and falling out with Marie Antoinette in Chevalier released this week. Doing really well with critics, this one, scoring a very respectable 80% approval online.

Next, Spider-Man across the spiderverse is the new animated adventure with Miles Morales behind the mask - this one is also being loved by critics, fans and those new to the franchise alike and is a welcome addition to the spiderverse according to those who've seen it. This time, when the heroes clash on how to handle a new threat, Miles finds himself pitted against the other Spiders.

And finally - based on the short story of the same name by Stephen King is the Boogeyman. It follows two sisters, reeling from the death of their mother, who encounter a a terrifying supernatural entity that preys on families. Opening in the top five at the UK box office, it's definitely one for fans of the found footage genre.
