00:00 Today's tutorial is inspired by this beautiful picture of Scarlett Johansson you can see
00:06 in the top right. Today's look is based upon that style of makeup but we are tweaking it
00:10 slightly.
00:11 And my model today is the lovely Yasmin and she has her own channel with her friend Sophie.
00:16 They do beauty product reviews, makeup etc so go check them out. They are called the
00:20 Coco Crush and I will put a link to their channel in my description bar.
00:24 So to start this look I am contouring the face as usual. I'm using my Dermacolor palette
00:29 and I'm using D11 for the contour and D0 for the highlight. To apply this I'm using my
00:34 Blank Canvas Cosmetics concealer brush.
00:37 So I've applied the contour to the hollows of the cheeks, down the sides of the nose
00:42 and then around the jawline. Now usually you'll see me applying the contour around my hairline
00:47 but Yasmin's forehead is slightly smaller so she doesn't need to contour that at all.
00:50 We want to maximise that just by applying the highlighter and making it look as big
00:54 as possible as opposed to smaller.
00:56 If you want a really defined highlight and contour you can just blend these into your
01:00 skin as is. You don't have to apply it with a foundation over the top. We want that more
01:05 soft subtle appearance so that's why I'm using a foundation with it. I have done a video
01:09 where I don't use a foundation to blend this in and I just use the highlight and contour
01:14 to blend into the skin but this will give you that more natural appearance which we
01:18 are going for.
01:19 So I'm just blending all the highlight and contour together and concealing any areas
01:22 that need extra attention.
01:24 The foundation I am using is Apon's Ideal Flawless Foundation. I'd say this gives a
01:28 medium coverage, it's really nice. Now that it's buffed in you can see Yasmin's got a
01:32 nice flawless face and it's just really softly defined.
01:36 So I'm going to set that in place with my M&S Translucent Powder.
01:40 So I'm just grooming the brows with a spoolie. Yasmin's already got fantastic brows, I'm
01:44 simply just going to add a little bit of colour to the front and to the top just to make them
01:48 a little bit more symmetrical.
01:50 In the picture of the makeup reference, Scarlett Johansson has got really nice full brows as
01:55 well so Yasmin is an ideal person for this particular look because she also has light
01:59 eyes and nice full brows.
02:01 So this part of the tutorial is for those of you that don't want to wear as much eyeliner
02:05 as we're going to be applying. That way you've got a nice eyeshadow to put with this eyeliner
02:08 look.
02:09 So I'm applying a Bowen Colour Eyeshadow just to soak up any moisture from the foundation
02:13 we've applied and it will give us a nice base for our next colour.
02:16 I'm applying Woodwink by MAC. This is a sort of bronze orangey shade and it pops brilliantly
02:21 against any eyes that are green or blue as we all know they're opposite on the colour
02:25 wheel.
02:26 I'm taking that over the entire eyelid and then I'm also going to take that on a pencil
02:30 brush just underneath the lower lashes.
02:35 And then just go over the top and bottom with a clean blending brush just to soften it all.
02:40 And again this is for those of you wearing a fine eyeliner look as opposed to a nice
02:46 full on one.
02:47 We are going to contour the eyelid just ever so slightly on the outer edge and I'm using
02:51 one of the brown shades from my Louise Young Essence Your Eyes palette.
02:55 So on an angled brush with that brown I'm placing it at an angle on the very outer edge
03:01 and I'm pulling that colour in and then I'm just blending that through.
03:05 And this is just going to give us that soft contour to the eyelid.
03:09 Eyeliner can be tricky at the best of times and even for professional makeup artists.
03:12 So here I want to show you, as you can see Yasmin's got one eyelid that's slightly larger
03:17 than the other and you can see the space of the lid on the right eye is a lot larger than
03:21 the left eye.
03:22 So this needs to be taken into consideration when placing the eyeliner.
03:25 It's best to map out your eyeliner shape while your eyes open.
03:29 I'm going to use my Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner just to map this out.
03:32 So I want the highest part of the wing to be perpendicular to the highest point of the
03:37 socket line while the eye is open.
03:39 Once you're happy you want to line from that outer wing down to the outer corner of your
03:43 eye.
03:44 Then you want to take from that outer wing down to the inner corner of your eye.
03:48 So it's good to put a dot in the centre of your eyelid.
03:50 So you can come from the outer corner to the middle and then from the inner corner to the
03:54 middle and that should give you a nice line.
03:57 So on Yasmin I'm going to be using Bobbi Brown's gel liner in Ink Black and I'm going to start
04:01 by using my map as my guide.
04:03 But we are going for a more full on eyeliner look so I'm going to be going a lot larger
04:06 than what we've mapped out.
04:07 So I'm going to start with this and then I'm going to build it up and you can do the same.
04:11 Or stick to the mapped guidelines if you want a more subtle eyeliner look.
04:15 Now as I showed you earlier Yasmin's eyelids are slightly different in shape.
04:18 So the important part for me when applying this is that they look as symmetrical as possible
04:22 when her eyelids are open.
04:23 So although they might not entirely match when Yasmin looks down, they look symmetrical
04:27 when she looks up.
04:28 To line the waterline I'm using Avon's Super Shock gel liner in Golden Thorn and I'm taking
04:33 that right into the inner corner as this is where it's going to be most visible.
04:37 I'm using Eyeko's Skinny Brush Mascara to give the eyelashes a nice inky black hook.
04:42 Be sure to coat both sides of the lashes, top and bottom.
04:45 In the reference image, under Scarlett Johansson's lower lashes it's quite defined with a black
04:49 line.
04:50 So for those of you who would prefer to stick with more of the reference image, I'm using
04:54 a black and brown mix together from my Louise Young palette and I'm just taking that under
04:57 the lower lashes.
04:58 I on the other hand want to make this more about the eyeliner look so I'm going to open
05:02 up Yasmin's eyes by applying a line on the inner corner about 2mm lower than the tear
05:08 depth and pulling back to meet under the lower lashes.
05:11 And then to deepen that I'm using the gel liner over the top.
05:14 This is really going to enhance that feline cat eye.
05:19 And then just to balance that I'm going to pull the liner from the inner corner downwards
05:23 to create a point.
05:24 I'm just going to define that shape just by applying the gel liner halfway across the
05:28 waterline and leaving that golden form super shock liner on the inner corner.
05:32 It's hard to tell whether Scarlett's wearing eyelashes in this do it, I assume she would
05:36 be, so I'm just going to apply some Kryolan ones.
05:40 This is the Glamour Glow palette in Posh by Kryolan and I'm going to use the sun kissed
05:44 colour just to define Yasmin's cheekbones.
05:47 And then I'm going to use the blush rose colour just to add a little bit of pink to the cheeks
05:52 as you can see in the reference image that Scarlett has got a pinky colour.
05:57 I'm using my Mary Lou highlighter by The Balm and I'm using this on the tops of the cheekbones.
06:02 Now for the lips I wanted to do something a bit more playful and fun so I thought we'd
06:08 go with a nice shocking pink.
06:10 The colour's a bit deeper on Scarlett but Yasmin's a lot younger and I want to keep it
06:13 nice and fresh.
06:15 To line the lips I'm using an inner mascara in Titovate and this is a really nice creamy
06:19 pencil.
06:20 And then to fill the lip in I'm using a product called Lip and Cheek and this is by Kryolan
06:24 and the colour I'm using is Lotus which is a lovely bright pink.
06:28 As I'm applying it I'm blending that liner.
06:30 It dries with a sort of matte finish to it but it's really lovely and these actually
06:34 only add a tint of colour so I'm applying it twice to build up the opacity and make
06:39 it a nice shocking pink.
06:40 It's so beautiful and it works so well with the eyeliner.
06:43 Over that I'm applying a well loved lip gloss by Victoria's Secret and this is in Strawberry
06:48 Fizz.
06:49 And that's the look complete.
06:50 I hope you've liked my take on this Scarlett Johansson makeup look.
06:53 As always please give me a thumbs up if you have and thank you for watching and thank
06:57 you to Yasmin for being my model.
06:58 Bye!
