The game offered a thrilling multiplayer experience where players could participate in a battle royale mode with up to 100 players. They would parachute onto a large map and scavenge for weapons, equipment, and vehicles while fighting against other players to be the last person or team standing.
PUBG Mobile received regular updates and introduced various gameplay modes, including Classic, Arcade, and EvoGround. The game was known for its realistic graphics, immersive gameplay, and intense firefights. It also featured a ranking system, in-game currency, and a wide range of cosmetic items for players to customize their characters.
However, in India, PUBG Mobile faced controversy due to concerns about its addictive nature and impact on children. In September 2020, the Indian government banned PUBG Mobile and several other Chinese apps citing security reasons.
