Chris Christie Files For 2024 White House Run, Joins Trump, DeSantis In Crowded GOP Field
  • 11 months ago
Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie filed a declaration Tuesday indicating he intends to run for the White House in 2024, entering the race for the GOP nomination alongside Donald Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

This is the second time that Christie, 60, is launching a presidential campaign. A former Trump ally, Christie is positioning himself as a contrast to the current front-runner and is, according to The New York Times, the most willing to attack Trump.

Christie’s bid is expected to kick off in New Hampshire Tuesday evening, a state where he mounted a hard-fought but unsuccessful campaign in the 2016 primaries.

To gain traction, the former governor will need to navigate the already crowded GOP field, which includes another nine candidates, with more announcements expected.
