A 44-year-old man has died after being struck by a lorry on Duke Street in Dennistoun.

Emergency services attended the scene but the man subsequently passed away in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Police have described the incident as a hit and run.

Next up, a homelessness charity who operate throughout the city centre has received an exemption from the Low Emission Zone, following a plea.

The refrigerated van used by Homeless Project Scotland was found to be non-compliant with the new rules.

They did purchase a new vehicle following a fundraiser, but asked the council for a two month grace period to allow them to install equipment.

And in other news, Glasgow Caledonian University, the first in the UK to open a campus in New York, is set to end its arrangement after a decade.

The organisation said it had not reached its potential, despite significant efforts from many staff.

The university gave the project over £26 million in loans and grants.
