Victor 5356

This American soprano made only a handful of recordings (half dozen?), and her discs did not sell well.

She was born Helen Russell Ulrich in 1874 in Chicago.

Her father was named Bartow Adolphus Ulrich (he was 34 at the time the singer was born).

Her mother, Helen A Russell, was 29 when she gave birth to the singer.

Her debut was in Chicago, 1897, in a concert at the Central Music Hall.

The singer married Achille Alberti on April 21, 1899, in New York City.

She gave birth to a son, Oliver Perry Alberti.

Noldi appeared with her husband, who was a baritone, as a singer with Victor Herbert's Orchestra in 1905.

She sang at the Metropolitan Opera on January 19, 1906, as a last-minute replacement for Lillian Nordica. The role was Leonora in Il Trovatore. Audiences were informed that Noldi was "lately prima donna of the Italian Opera in Mexico."

She died on August 9, 1962, in Los Angeles.
