Luton Captain Tom Lockyer Carried Off On A Stretcher In Play Off Final Against Conventry

Luton captain Tom Lockyer was taken to hospital after collapsing early in the first half against Coventry at Wembley.
The 28-year-old was running backward toward his own goal when he fell to the ground and was unable to get back up.
Medical staff were immediately in attendance, and Lockyer was conscious as he left the field wearing an oxygen mask on a stretcher.
The Wales international was taken to the stadium's medical room, where his parents joined him, before going to a specialist hospital in North London for further tests.
Luton tweeted: 'We can report that after collapsing on the pitch, Tom Lockyer has been taken to hospital for further tests.
'He is responsive and talking to his family, who are with him. We are all with you, Locks.'
Lockyer scored the winning goal for Luton in their semi-final victory over Sunderland earlier this month and was also named the club's player of the season.
And he was able to revel in his side's success even in his absence, with Lockyer pictured celebrating their promotion to the Premier League from the hospital.
His dad, Steve, posted a welcome update on Twitter and shared a picture of his son reveling at the moment Luton capped off their remarkable rise up the pyramid.
'Tom's Dad here. Tom is ok,' he wrote. 'Very happy but so sad he can't be there with his teammates. Here is the moment.'
During the trophy celebrations, Luton players held Lockyer's shirt aloft and paid tribute to their captain and his efforts this season in their post-match interviews.
Luton's fairytale was completed after their dramatic penalty shoot-out victory.
Jordan Clark's opener was canceled out by Coventry favorite Gustavo Hamer in the second half, sending the contest the distance underneath the famous arch.
Fankaty Dabo, however, missed from 12 yards and confirmed Luton's triumph.
Speaking post-match, Luton boss Rob Edwards became teary-eyed and admitted, despite the promotion, that his priority centered around Lockyer's wellbeing.
Speaking on Sky Sports, Edwards said: 'I've got to be honest the only thing I'm thinking about right now is Tom Lockyer.
'He's been immense for us this season and health is the most important thing, family's the most important thing, more important than football, more important than this.
'All of those things that you were just talking about are great but I don't care right now. A few of the guys have spoken to him.
'That's where my head's at at the moment. It felt a little bit wrong to celebrate at the time, I just felt emotional.'
