00:00 Hey guys, so today I'm going to be doing, I actually have no idea what I'm calling this
00:09 yet, but basically I'm doing this video because I woke up this morning absolutely exhausted.
00:14 I got the worst night's sleep last night because me and my best friend were up until past five
00:19 in the morning watching the first season of Gossip Girl.
00:23 This is my life.
00:24 So because of that I was miserably exhausted all day today, running on a few hours of sleep
00:29 and just dragging my lifeless body, just miserable.
00:32 And so when it came time to filming, I was like, no, this is going to be so hard because
00:36 it takes many hours to film sometimes.
00:39 And I tweeted you guys about how tired I was and someone tweeted me back telling me that
00:42 I should do a video of how to look more fresh and awake when you're exhausted.
00:46 And I was like, yes, I love it.
00:49 So I typically don't just like randomly do a video, like spur of the moment like this.
00:53 I usually like know what I'm going to do like 24 hours in advance, but I figured why not?
00:58 So I sat down in front of the camera, did my hair, did my makeup, got dressed.
01:01 Well, I didn't get dressed on camera.
01:02 This isn't that kind of video.
01:03 Even if you don't want to do this exact makeup look, I will give you tips that will work
01:07 for everybody, all skin tones, all eye colors, all that jazz that will guarantee you to look
01:12 more fresh and awake on a daily basis.
01:14 Some of these things are just common sense and some are makeup artist tips, and I will
01:18 list all of the tips that I have for you guys down below.
01:20 I'll link it in my description bar.
01:22 That way in case I want to tell you something that I didn't mention in the video, you can
01:25 go ahead and read that list.
01:26 Tips, read that list for yourself to look more fresh and awake on a daily basis.
01:31 Yeah.
01:32 So I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
01:33 Thank you so much for watching.
01:34 I love you guys and I'll see you soon.
01:43 Bye.
01:46 So first step in looking good is cleansing your skin.
01:57 You want to make sure that you really rinse your face well in the morning because when
02:00 you're tired, your skin can get very dehydrated and this will help with that.
02:04 Also turn your water on all cold when you get towards the end and use cold water on
02:08 the face because that will really help waken you up and it will also help waken up the
02:12 skin as well.
02:14 Then I'm going to moisturize my skin.
02:16 I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to moisturize your face.
02:20 It's going to help your makeup lay so beautifully and it's going to also hydrate the skin making
02:24 it plumper and more awake.
02:25 I also use an eye cream day and night.
02:28 Just make sure that it's not too thick and creamy.
02:30 Otherwise it can interfere with your concealer.
02:32 Then I'm going to take some freezing cold spoons and put it on my under eye bags.
02:36 Yes, this works.
02:37 You pop two spoons in the freezer.
02:38 You can leave them in there for 10, 15 minutes or you can leave them in there overnight.
02:42 Put them on your under eye area and it will seriously not only wake you up but truly de-puff
02:46 that under eye area.
02:47 Then I'm going to go in with Rodo's eye drops.
02:50 These are extremely cooling and chilling.
02:52 They feel like you're in the Arctic and these literally give your eyes a zing and you feel
02:55 completely awake.
02:56 Then I'm going to go in with the Evian mineral water and just spray that on my face.
03:01 With these steps, you are literally ready to conquer the day.
03:04 Yep, got to do it one more time.
03:06 Felt too good not to go on.
03:08 Yep, bing, bing, bing.
03:10 Connect the dots.
03:11 Thank you.
03:12 I am going to be using Bare Minerals Bare Skin foundation and I'm going to be applying
03:16 that with a Makeup Geek foundation brush.
03:19 I'm using three to four drops for my entire face.
03:21 I have never used a foundation where so little goes so far, if that makes sense.
03:27 This is kind of a dewy foundation on me personally.
03:31 On days where you're tired, you really want to use a foundation that's hydrating.
03:34 It can be as full coverage or sheer as you want but a hydrating foundation is really
03:38 going to help make you look fresh and awake as opposed to a matte foundation can sometimes
03:42 make you look a little bit older and then actually weigh down the skin.
03:46 I am so falling asleep right now, not even going to lie.
03:50 Now I'm going to go in under my eye area and just correct and conceal.
03:54 It looks like I'm applying a lot.
03:55 Well, that's because I am applying a lot but this concealer is on the sheer side so when
04:00 I blend it out, it's not going to be as intense but I am going to go over the eyelid area
04:05 and under eye area using a damp beauty blender because in real life, I truly am exhausted
04:11 as I'm filming this and so I'm taking all the steps that I take when I am exhausted
04:15 and using a damp beauty blender really helps make that under eye area not look dry or crepey
04:19 like it can get when you're tired.
04:21 Now I'm going to highlight the face.
04:23 I would typically use my MAC Prep and Prime highlighter in Light Boost but I'm currently
04:26 out of that so instead, I'm trying out the YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch and I have
04:31 to say it's really not that big of a difference but I'm just highlighting the points of my
04:36 face that I want to bring light to and this is going to help us look much more fresh and
04:40 again awake by highlighting.
04:41 I am blending that out again with a damp beauty blender because having it damp and that water
04:45 in that sponge is going to help press in more moisture and hydrate our skin and that is
04:50 all we're looking for when we're tired is hydration, hydration, hydration.
04:53 Then I'm going to set my under eye concealer.
04:56 You don't have to do this but it is a personal must for me because my concealer will move
05:00 no matter what concealer it is if I do not set my under eye area.
05:03 So I'm using the Anastasia Contour Kit in the Banana shade and then I'm also using Emphasize
05:07 by MAC Pro.
05:08 I will link all of that good stuff down below.
05:11 Now I'm going to go in with the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in the shade Toast.
05:15 Using a Sigma fluffy brush, I'm going to take this all over in that crease area.
05:19 Using a shade like this is going to bring dimension to the eye without being too intense
05:23 or overboard and it's going to really help make you look more awake and make those eyes
05:27 look more open.
05:28 Then I'm going to jump in with a new Milani eyeshadow in the shade Bella Cappuccino.
05:32 I'm going to use a smaller, more dense brush for this part and I'm going to really focus
05:36 this on that outer corner.
05:38 Putting that darker shade out there is going to give me more depth again and more dimension
05:43 and bring more attention to the eyes.
05:44 Then I'm going to go in with another Milani eyeshadow in Bella Champagne and I'm using
05:49 my fingers because I was just over brushes.
05:51 I was exhausted and I was just not feeling it.
05:53 So I'm using my fingers to apply this shade all over the lid area and I'm also going to
05:57 jump in with L'Oreal Ice Latte and just put a pop of that right in that inner corner because
06:02 it's super, super shimmery and this will really help bring tons of attention to that eye area
06:07 and really waken you up.
06:09 If you are more mature and you don't want to use shimmer, I always suggest MAC Mylar
06:12 eyeshadow.
06:13 It's beautiful.
06:14 Then I'm just going to fill in my brows.
06:16 Nothing special and comb them out as always.
06:19 I'm going to go in with MAC Shroom eyeshadow because this is my personal favorite highlight
06:22 of all time and I'm going to highlight that brow bone area and then I'm also going to
06:26 highlight my inner corner.
06:28 You could use the L'Oreal Ice Latte but for me personally, it's a little too chunky for
06:33 an under brow and inner corner highlight.
06:35 I like those highlights to be very fine and shimmer and very glowy with no chunkiness
06:40 whatsoever.
06:41 Then I'm going to curl my lashes.
06:42 You can use whatever lash curler you have but this is a very important step in making
06:46 yourself look awake.
06:48 Taking your lashes and bringing them upward is going to make the eyes appear larger and
06:52 bigger therefore more awake.
06:53 Then I'm going to coat the lashes with Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal.
06:56 I'm going to go in with two coats and I usually let the lashes dry for about one minute in
07:01 between coats.
07:02 I'm clearly feeling more awake.
07:04 It's working people.
07:05 Then I'm going to go in with Bella Cafe.
07:07 This is another Milani eyeshadow.
07:09 I got a little happy at the drugstore, okay?
07:11 Then I'm just going to buff this on the whole lower lash line area.
07:14 A lot of times people get nervous to do this but doing this will actually help you look
07:17 more awake.
07:18 Leaving that under eye area blank can actually do the reverse and make them look more squinty
07:22 therefore more tired.
07:23 Then I'm going to coat that inner waterline with this Nars Rue Bonaparte I believe and
07:29 it's just a creamy white and it's going to make the eyes open up even more.
07:33 Using a stark white can be a little too much so I always love using a creamy one.
07:37 Then putting that mascara on the bottom as you can see it just finishes it off and makes
07:41 the eyes look much bigger.
07:42 Then I'm going to go in with MAC Care Blend Powder in the shade Medium Deep.
07:46 This is technically a face powder I've talked about tons of times before but it's one of
07:49 my favorite ways to bronze the skin of all time and I'm going to buff that out with a
07:53 big ol' blending brush but first I did do a little contour action with the Makeup Geek
07:58 Contour Brush.
07:59 I'm not sure what it's called exactly but I will link it down below.
08:02 Then I'm going to go in with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Luminous Light
08:08 and a tapered highlighting brush from Sigma and I'm going to put that all over the cheekbone
08:12 area.
08:13 Once I have it on the cheek area I'll also touch it on the chin.
08:16 Cupid's bow, the very top of the nose, very very very lightly.
08:19 You do not want to bring too much attention.
08:21 And the center of the forehead if you're not oily.
08:24 And then I'm going to go in with a blush from Becca and this is Flower Child.
08:28 It is such a beautiful pink.
08:29 I really recommend using a pink tone blush when you are feeling tired because it will
08:33 make your cheeks just glow and make you look more awake and fresh as opposed to using just
08:37 bronzer or something more coral.
08:40 I am going to go in with Urban Decay Native Lipstick which is just a beautiful nude baby
08:45 pinkish and I'm going to go over it with this Girl Actick Lip Gloss that I am obsessed with
08:50 right now and yet I don't know the name of the color so I will link it down below but
08:53 as you can see it's gorgeous.
08:55 Using a lip gloss when you're trying to make yourself look more fresh and awake is very
08:58 important because it reflects the light off of the lips and therefore makes you look a
09:02 little bit more feminine and awake.
09:04 I'm going to just take a tiny little Sigma liner brush and just barely coat that lash
09:09 line with some black gel liner.
09:11 I'm not actually lining the eyes.
09:13 I'm just putting some of this liner in those lashes just again to bring a little bit more
09:17 dimension.
09:18 I'm going to set everything with Urban Decay Chill Makeup Setting Spray.
09:21 This will help everything look much more natural.
09:24 Now I'm going to quickly just do my hair.
09:26 There were so many requests for a hair tutorial in my last video so I figured I would just
09:30 show you how I did it because it's so stinkin' simple.
09:33 My hair is naturally straight but if I have any kinks from it being up in a bun I'll just
09:36 quickly straighten it out.
09:38 I am using my Bellami hair straightener.
09:40 I will link it down below.
09:41 Then I'm just grabbing a section of my hair and as you can see I'm not doing the greatest
09:46 at it.
09:47 It kind of is hurting me.
09:48 And then I'm just going to grab the pieces around that entire face area, pull it back
09:53 over top of the ears.
09:55 This is really a moment where you can decide how much you want personally.
09:59 In my last video I didn't pull this much back but today I switched it up a little bit.
10:03 I was just feeling a little crazy.
10:05 I'm going to clip half of it back just to get it out of the way and then that front
10:09 half that I have right there, all I'm going to do is just lightly tease it just to give
10:13 this section a little bit of body but I don't want it to be like ba-boom.
10:17 I just want it to have a little bit of body in the front of that head.
10:21 That head in the front of that fat head.
10:23 In the front of my head.
10:25 And then I'm just going to go ahead and twisty tie it back like that.
10:29 Then I will just tighten it so that it comes up a little bit higher on the head.
10:32 Then I grab a random piece of hair from right underneath of it and I wrap, wrap, wrap.
10:37 That way you can't see that twisty tie because sometimes that's just not a cute look.
10:41 This is just an easier way to make it look a little bit cuter without having to try too
10:45 hard.
10:46 I bobby pin that baby down and we are good to go.
10:49 This totally reminds me of my Flintstones.
10:51 I call it my Flintstones hairdo but what can you say?
10:54 I just threw on a more colorful t-shirt because wearing color in your wardrobe or your accessories
10:59 in any way is going to help you look a little bit more fresh and awake.
11:02 It brings attention to you in a positive way.
11:04 It makes you look a little bit more youthful and playful.
11:06 I really hope that you guys enjoyed this tutorial.
11:08 Thank you so much for watching and I'll see you soon.
11:09 Bye!
