Glasgow City Council will need £40 billion to meet its net zero emissions targets by 2030, which is currently 20 times what they spend annually on services.

A spokesperson for the local authority said that while Glasgow is not short of climate ambition, it is short of the capital with which to mobilise it.

Next up, the comedy duo who released a Scotch blend whisky named after their famous Still Game characters, Jack and Victor, have won a trademark battle with the US whisky producer Jack Daniel’s.

Greg Hemphill and Ford Kieran launched the drink in 2021 to honour the Glasgow sitcom.

Jack Daniel’s then began a legal battle against the use of the name, arguing it could mislead customers into thinking they were endorsing the whisky.

And finally, the Glasgow singer Lewis Capaldi has released the fastest selling LP of 2023 so far, with his latest album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent.

The work hasn’t yet been out for a week and the sale number currently stands at 77,000, confirming that the musician is comfortably heading to number one in the charts.
