00:00 I expect keep the fight clean I've made my commands and most importantly
00:07 protect yourself all the time shake hands
00:11 well Kieran McCann having to get them back together to actually touch gloves
00:15 we had that with the weigh-in yesterday after the face-off they went to touch
00:19 gloves, Blattsy just gave Stefan a little tap in the stomach instead which is
00:23 exactly what he did there the Polish fighter didn't like it Blattsy eyeballing him
00:30 throughout the announcements but as I've been saying Stepien's composure has not
00:38 ever looked like leaving him at any point during the course of this week he
00:43 was a decent international amateur
00:48 it definitely could affect an easier fight to come back to
00:53 absolutely the fact that this man was considered a suitable opponent for
00:59 Callum Smith who as we now know will challenge Artur Piterbiev for those
01:04 unified light heavyweight titles tells you enough really Blattsy just dipping
01:10 his knees looking for that jab into the body him and Virgil Hunter have been
01:14 together a while now he's been sparring some big fighters some cruiserweights
01:19 Isaac Chamberlain one of them
01:24 and others over in San Francisco
01:30 they've been together a while but because he's been so inactive we don't
01:33 know if it's worked or it's what he's worked on because we don't get to see it
01:38 so it'll be interesting to see how that's developed you know having all that
01:42 time out of the ring is there's no fifth but like being boxing fit
01:47 I felt against Craig Richards we did see some differences
01:51 he looked to me like he was more difficult to hit he just dropped his height a little bit
01:55 seemed to sink his head into his shoulders a touch more and didn't get caught in the way
02:01 that he had done previously but you're absolutely right that
02:06 the profile on fight night we haven't seen him in enough of them over the last two or three years
02:12 he's been a bit more of a heavyweight fighter and he's been a bit more of a heavyweight fighter than he was before.
02:17 Fairly cagey start here from Stepien he's not really giving much away
02:25 good short left hand there from Perazzi
02:31 Stepien will look to close that gap and launch attacks he takes his feet with him he's always
02:37 got his feet underneath him from what I've seen of him when he punches you won't really find him
02:42 overreaching and falling in just tucking up nice and tight there one thing you do notice about him
02:48 we're talking about it with the weigh-in man he's got a long neck Stepien
02:52 might sound like a weird thing to say but it just makes it more difficult to protect that chin
02:57 it's not really what you want as a fighter left hand into the body there though from Stepien
03:02 he's just beginning to get a bit more aggressive yeah good lead right hand just before that as well
03:07 he's working well behind his jab he got caught with a body shot by Stepien but he also returned a good shot as well
03:21 almost landed the uppercut there put the right hand off the back of it but as I said about
03:31 Stepien he's organized good right to the body there again from him I think it's been a good start
03:37 from Boateng you know he's not unloading yet he's having a look he hasn't really given anything away
03:43 he's caught a few shots on the gloves established his jab I think he's found his range good round
03:48 I don't know if you found it sometimes it's a bit weird like you have to feel a shot to to
03:57 see if you can take it if that makes sense I know what you mean yeah I've seen him I've just seen
04:03 him like take a few shots and then you know he counts it as lifts as if to say I'm all right
04:08 with that I'm okay with that I can live with that
04:11 that's definitely something he's tended to do in the past and if he's felt it then he hasn't
04:19 really rated it often he's maybe taken a few too many because he hasn't felt like he can't be hurt
04:24 and that's been the criticism actually that it's been leveled back to him at times there's a qr code
04:29 give that a scan score the fight give us your verdict have a look at the live blog
04:34 quarters 10 seconds
04:38 seconds up
04:42 round two
04:46 Stepien with one draw on his record he struggled basically against
04:56 the fighter called Marek Matija a couple of times got the draw then won by split decision
05:03 Matija was stopped in six by Craig Richards who actually outpointed so if you're into
05:09 looking at those kinds of things as a form guide then that's the best one that we've really
05:16 got it's not an exact science all about though it's definitely not I think styles make fights and
05:23 you know moments and occasions also get to people and where you are you know people have lives as well
05:27 what I've always liked about Mawatis is he's really economical doesn't really waste anything
05:44 and that's not just a punch-out but even movement is you know he's
05:52 not bouncing it out using lots of the ring he just steps around
05:55 I almost said he doesn't really move his head but he was doing it at the time that I was going to say
06:02 just creeping forward there Stepien gets that guard up
06:11 and backs off they're never too far away from each other these two
06:16 blots again with the jab goes up and down with it looking for the body
06:21 goes well there comes off the ropes and grabs hold and doubles up on the hook himself he's
06:31 just beginning to click through the gears a bit this one in the second round I think both men
06:36 have certainly upped their pace a little bit but I'd see put combinations together
06:40 there and uh Stepien happy to answer him back
06:43 I feel sometimes with the Mawati everything's just like the same like it's the same speed it's the
06:53 same power it's like he threw a few good body shots before there that's what we want to see
06:59 we want to see a change of you know acceleration and not just the same one pace that's exactly
07:07 what I'm talking about
07:08 30 seconds remaining in round two
07:18 Blatzy again just trying to plant that jab Stepien just gallows his feet
07:26 moves off to his right hand side
07:34 looking for the hook there Stepien then trying to chop down with the right hand
07:37 a smile there from the pole a touch of gloves between the two at the end of the round
07:52 [Music]
08:09 Fujio Hunt is an absolute nightmare for Cornishound because he doesn't actually get
08:12 into the ring he's always just leaning through the rope so it's very difficult to pick up anything that he says
08:20 you get in close straight that up straight that jab out
08:23 that's the way to be patient
08:29 nice shots going in there
08:44 round three one thing I think I did hear Hunt to say there was straighten out that jab
08:52 just wants him to extend it that little bit more snap it a bit more maybe he's finding the guard
08:58 with it most of the time at the moment or so far during the fight so possibly has it quite
09:04 got that range you know you probably found the range in the sense you're punching at the time
09:12 he wants to see him getting a half a step closer and punch through the target snap those headbacks
09:18 it's very controlled and measured by Boateng you know he's comfortable
09:39 I think yeah when you said it could be one pace I don't think he was one pace I think it's more
09:43 that he's just still in first gear and he's building into the fight and I think he's giving
09:49 Stepi and the respect that he's a credible opponent he's experienced and uh I think he'll pick the
09:57 pace up for Watsi as the rounds go on
09:59 okay just looking to get onto that jab he's building into the fight trying to establish
10:07 that jab hasn't put the right hand onto the back of it all that many times yet just dips
10:13 those knees and looks for the body with that right yeah he's varying the backhand off really
10:18 well it's coming the body he's bringing it around the hook the hook the head you haven't seen it
10:23 come straight through
10:24 nice body shot got it around the back of the elbow there that was a good shot for Watsi
10:42 he has to bring it around because Stepien does so well in Tuchon
10:51 and is guard on that and you can't there's no target for him in the body area so he has just
10:56 has to bring it around the elbows around the side it does tuck up well right hand there
11:02 from Watsi as Stepien had just dipped to the waist and again Watsi just looking for that jab
11:13 Stepien tapping with his own lead hand and trying to send the right through straight
11:19 sweeping right hands a pair of them there I can't work out if Watsi's
11:25 rusty or he's being really patient it's probably a bit of both there from Stepien caught him
11:41 so we've got with us tonight of course the British European
11:46 heavyweight champion super down as easy as ring starter Nandy Scott
11:51 Joshua's in control I can see it feels like he's boxed into strict orders and he's trying to
12:01 focus on a game plan and yeah Powell seems game's landed a couple right hands but
12:07 for that I think Joshua is in full control but I think like we just want to see him like just
12:14 let his hands go we saw it in the early rounds where he let his hands go and it just makes him
12:18 look like that beast that we know him of but um well me and Lawrence we used to call it the blender
12:23 once he gets you and he lets his hands go you're just in a blender I think that's what we want to
12:27 see but again I think he's just boxed into strict orders and just trying to execute a game plan
12:32 if you're in the Stepien corner briefly what would you be saying um I would advise him to
12:37 stay cautious and when he finds that right hand just let it go but yeah thanks Dan no problem
12:43 so into the fourth well there's been lots of talk about a potential fight between
12:51 Joshua Bilazzi and Dan Aziz neither one of them seems to have any particular problem
12:57 with that because there is going to be a bit of a wait if anyone's going to try and challenge
13:01 for world titles Callum Smith up against Maturbia for three of them Bivol we're not
13:06 absolutely sure what his plans are they've got good rankings Bilazzi and Aziz but Bilazzi's got
13:14 a job to take care of here tonight first and he's made a decent start a solid start
13:21 just setting things up again with that lead left hand
13:27 and then looks to try and cool that right handed round the back of the guard
13:35 he's just up the tempo a bit at the start of the fourth round here for what's each
13:38 yeah that's what we want to see you know we want to see I know he's boxed into a game plan
13:42 I know he's boxing some instructions and it's a chopping down process but we want to see him
13:47 start to build build on it now a little bit some decent work there Tash for 20-30 seconds he's
13:55 getting through with some shots himself but he picks up on it earlier on in the fight but actually
13:59 doesn't seem too worried about what's coming back in the opposite direction and just signs in this
14:03 round although he's taking his foot off the pedal a little bit the last half minute or so that he's
14:09 beginning to think that maybe now is the time to walk him down a bit yeah shots might be getting
14:14 through there but enough substantial shots that that's gonna you know deter you from doing what
14:18 you want to do or putting you off doing what you want to do and so yeah yeah
14:23 I think going back to what you said earlier as well we are so fortunate in this country to have
14:32 a good domestic scene at this weight you know we've got the likes of Arthur Yard, Aziz, Boatse
14:38 before you even get to that world level and I think fans would appreciate you know them having
14:43 a box off before stepping up and while they're waiting for their deciders up. So you know you've
14:47 got Callum Smith fighting Buterbio and I think that's a fight Callum can win and then that will
14:52 give us the world championship which is the only really missing ingredient. Right hand landing
14:58 from Stepien who again looks to try and come over the jab there with Boatse. Boatse stepping in
15:03 and planting that one but just tapping trying to vary up the weight of shot goes up to the head
15:09 down to the body. Stepien though keeping everything together compact organized always looking to throw
15:16 he is very neat and tidy
15:19 just reach for the right hand a little bit there but brought it back really quick he realized he
15:25 made half a mistake and recovers rapidly.
15:29 I don't know if it's a case of you know Boatse not really respecting his power
15:45 and letting him have the little t-arms so he can see and open them because
15:49 Stepien does tuck up well and he bends really well.
15:53 Boxing on Sky Sports brought to you by Voltirol.
16:01 Charge to the line for Sergio Perez. Oh no! That's Charlotte Clare into the barriers they have red flagged it
16:09 putting Sergio Perez on pole. A mistake by Charlotte Clare ended the third qualifying
16:14 session early he'll start from seventh. Max Verstappen made a mistake of his own he'll start
16:19 from ninth the front row of the grid Sergio Perez on pole position Fernando Alonso alongside him
16:26 join us for live coverage of the Miami Grand Prix today seven o'clock Sky Sports F1.
16:32 10 seconds. Well Stepien very quickly off his stool very early off his stool actually.
16:45 And five. So into the fifth.
16:50 Just getting low behind that jab there Stepien then for the first time
16:59 stepped in his chin came up a bit as he looked to let those hands go
17:04 and that might be what Boatse wants is for Stepien to get a few ideas it's not that he hasn't been
17:13 throwing up until now as described he has been but he's kept things compact he's kept things
17:17 tight he hasn't given anything away he can't at this level if you just step into the middle of
17:23 the ring and start slinging leather you'll get slaughtered and neither one of them has looked to do that.
17:29 But the pole is looking a bit more expansive now. I think sometimes in boxing like
17:42 you need to be able to see an opening and like I said he's so compact you see there he so
17:47 tucks himself in so well that you might just need to let him off a shot or two to see the gap.
17:54 Yeah or encourage him to open up.
17:58 Legs just tangling together as Boatse came forward there landed right hand and
18:06 he'd rather stay on his feet actually as the front feet just clashed he's got really low cut boots Stepien.
18:12 Just quickly across the ring to try and get on top of Boatse there neat
18:19 use of the left hand there Stepien.
18:21 He'll gain a little bit of confidence from this and maybe that's the plan to let him open up and
18:29 you know throw more shots.
18:31 Look for that arcing right hand over the top there Boatse.
18:35 Good use of the jab.
18:39 He was throwing good body shots earlier in the fight.
18:50 With both hands and we haven't seen much of that for the last at all to the head.
19:02 Good lead right hand there from Stepien that collided with the head of Boatse nice and solid
19:07 didn't have any impact on him it's an unusual kind of shot that lead right. I just don't like getting
19:12 hit with it it's it's a bit of a pain in the butt.
19:15 It's not one of them shots that hurts it doesn't but it just offsets it a little bit and it makes you.
19:31 That's it you have a little bit more urgency from Boatse now just to step it up a little bit.
19:44 Well ticking up to the halfway point here Boatse looking to let his hands go a touch.
19:48 Boxing on Sky Sports brought to you by Voltirol.
19:59 A course known for maiden victories.
20:02 Welcome to the big time Rory McIlroy.
20:07 Well Spalter on the perfect stage made a win for Max Halber and he has done it in style.
20:14 The action continues live on Sky Sports.
20:18 The Prime Minister of Sweden Mr Olof Palme has been assassinated.
20:23 We have the US on one side Soviet Union on the other side.
20:26 Steve Larson was obsessed with finding the truth.
20:34 So heading into the second half of this one scheduled for 10 at light heavyweight Joshua
20:53 Boatse in the white and orange Pavel Stepien in the black and gold.
21:03 Boatse looking to try and change the angle on that right hand.
21:07 He's been picking up the rounds you would say through the first half of the fight.
21:12 Good left hand there for Boatse.
21:13 Stepien took a step back but then got himself together.
21:17 So
21:27 so
21:35 just not quite close enough for the right hand there Boatse.
21:52 Again just looking to jab to the body.
21:54 Stepien is happy to stay in that punching range and that blender that Dan Aziz was
21:59 talking about.
22:00 He hasn't taken a backward step in that sense he's been very proactive very positive
22:05 in this fight in the moves that he's made.
22:20 It just feels like a little bit of a lukewarm performance to me from Boatse.
22:25 I just feel like there's there's gears there that he could go through but honestly go through them.
22:29 He needs to start turning the screw a bit here in the second half of the fight.
22:32 I think that's the that's the reality he has been out of the ring for a long time.
22:36 You can't get too carried away with what you expect from somebody if you go looking for
22:42 the knockout as the adage says and it's less likely to come but Boatse knows that he's back
22:49 on this sky stage he knows that people expect a lot from him and it would be good to see him
22:55 put his foot to the floor and get something done in this second half but take nothing away from
22:59 Stepien. There have been some quite close rounds in that first half and those first five the fourth
23:04 and the fifth maybe in particular Stepien's not looked troubled at any point he will fancy his
23:09 own chances as we head down the stretch here. I think just on work rate I would have given him
23:14 the last round but yeah as he steps up in levels as well as you get to that world level you're not
23:23 going to knock everybody out that's you know we'd love to see it but it doesn't really happen
23:29 but you definitely want to see him like like Michael said just go through the gears a little
23:34 bit and we expect so much explosive power from him but we just haven't really seen that today
23:39 and that's the the downside of being out of the ring so long and yet it's great to be in the gym
23:44 and be with all these people but it's got to transfer into the ring. Well there's still time
23:49 let's go down ringside to Andy Scott he's with Richard Reapport. Richard good to see you up here
23:56 presumably supporting Joshua Bratzi how are you scoring this one so far who's ahead for you?
24:00 Joshua Bratzi's ahead well I just sometimes it's just it's frustrating me because he's switching
24:05 off a little bit during the round just needs to stay focused keep it simple and try to switch
24:09 it over to the body get to the other side he's landing the good right to the to the rib but he
24:14 needs to switch it over and try to target that that liver and I think he's going to see success.
24:18 They mentioned in commentary how much is this Joshua Bratzi boxing to strict orders or how
24:24 much of this is 12 months out the ring and ring rust what's your opinion? It's both it's both
24:28 you know I've been there before it's ring rust is a real thing he needs to ease his way into it
24:34 and we're going to see him grow confidence and I think he's going to take this guy out
24:37 in a few rounds. Congratulations on your new deal this week. Thank you very much Andy.
24:41 Well Andy Scott took control of that he was presiding over the
24:48 the signing process there for Richard Reapport.
24:51 So into the seventh step here quickly onto that jab just doubling up on it.
25:02 Trying to turn that right hand over a bit there Bratzi and flinging it around the back of the
25:07 guard step again if you've been saying all the way through just doesn't really leave too many gaps he
25:14 tucks up effectively he tucks up well and again there that's some good movement of the feet just
25:21 to circle away from the fist of Bratzi.
25:25 I think it's a little bit for us frustrating watching so I can only imagine what it's like
25:28 for him inside does not be able to see the gaps and see the space.
25:32 Well sometimes you have to be a little bit more careful with the jab.
25:41 I think it's a little bit for us frustrating watching so I can only imagine what it's like
25:47 for him inside does not be able to see the gaps and see the space.
25:50 Well sometimes you have to create the openings as well though you know put combinations together
25:57 you know probably open the defence he's used the feints you know maneuver him into the corner
26:03 back him up to the rope double up on the jab then left to right hand you know put four five six
26:08 put combinations together open up the defence.
26:11 Step in just looking for that right hand there.
26:13 Right hand lead again there from the pole he's trying to step in himself a little bit as Bratzi
26:20 finds himself in that blue corner he seems happy enough there just slipping rolling waiting for an
26:26 opportunity and that's maybe what you're talking about there Matt hoping that Stepien will present
26:32 him with a chance and he almost did as he fell in behind that right hand and Stepien maybe a little
26:37 bit troubled there as he moves off to his left you've got to give him credit though because he's
26:43 always he's always on that front foot himself he's always giving Bratzi something to think about
26:48 he's not really allowed him if you like to put those punches together in fives and sixes.
26:52 Yeah he's giving him a lot of space also so he's not forcing him forward and putting him on the
27:01 ropes where we just seen in the corner he unloaded a few great shots and he was there himself spun
27:07 him around got him on the corner unloaded a few good shots but now it's back to the centre where
27:11 Stepien's got so much space to just keep moving back and moving around that we can't see we can't
27:17 see them gears and them shots that we want to see. Do you know it feels a little bit like I'm watching
27:22 a spa rather than a fight.
27:24 Slaps that bit uh
27:29 it's a bit of snap yeah good right hand there from Stepien catches Bratzi and the left is
27:41 Bratzi just looks to try and open out with his right hand final few seconds of the round
27:47 Stepien with those gloves held low really for the first time in the fight that goes about.
27:51 Okay keep breaking these down breaking down okay focus on that jab and the body shots okay
28:13 you hear me focus on the jab and the body shot nice slick defense
28:17 when you slip in make sure you balance and get those body shots okay
28:21 he's sitting down now because those body shots is crushing him
28:27 he's gunshot he's trying to steal he don't really want to engage
28:34 and he's frustrated because he can't hit you queen.
28:39 Hey how far can you beat me man? Can you beat me man?
28:42 Very measured stuff there from Virgil Hunter it always is he seems happy with the way things are
28:49 going asking him to keep looking for the jab the right to the body just to continue as he described
28:54 it there to to beat him up pointing out that Stepien took to the stool in between rounds on
29:00 that occasion he's got three rounds left here Joshua Bratzi just to try and as we've been saying
29:07 click through those gears and turn the screw a bit Stepien
29:14 again with that guard up in place good jab there from Bratzi
29:20 left
29:27 okay
29:37 let his hands go a little bit there Stepien finishes with the left hand to the body and again
29:53 a bit more ambition there from him
30:04 so
30:12 launching the right hand there Bratzi twice in a row but Stepien
30:31 again covered up well enough
30:38 and he's continuing to go to the body and just some signs of that body work might be beginning
30:44 to bother Stepien a little bit but he digs his toes in there and looks to let his hands go but
30:50 maybe I was imagining that put the jab into the body then a couple of right hands to the body and
30:54 it just caused Stepien to grimace a touch and find some open space and now looking to try and
31:01 fire back maybe because he doesn't want to give too many more of them away
31:05 he's hooked up well to be fair to Boatty a lot of them hit the gloves he was moving his head well
31:11 but it's just it's so frustrating because it's just a little bit of the same same
31:15 every shot's the same it's like there's no snap it's just it's just like it's a bit lackluster
31:23 if I'm honest you know it's just I know I know he's a lot better than that and I just feel like
31:30 he should be showing us we've seen it and I think that's what's frustrating is that
31:35 we know it's there we just we just want to we just want it to come out
31:38 even just have to have him on the ropes for a minute he's just not
31:44 pushing forward enough to even put him under that much pressure to make him want to
31:47 so two to go in this one as Boatty takes a seat in the corner they see Mappet up in the corner
31:55 for the way that things have progressed over these first eight rounds
32:00 make sure you're under your legs and you're down okay
32:13 and when he's punching that's when you punch okay catch and shoot catch and shoot
32:22 body shots are damaging he's still here he's trying to get away from every single one every
32:27 time you come forward he's moving he's trying to survive so step it up a little bit this round
32:33 and the next round we're gonna finish off
32:34 Josh! Josh!
32:39 would you make a back mount?
32:42 for Virgil Hunter basically saying that Stepien's always looking to stay away every single time
32:49 Boatty lands the the body shot i think a couple did tickle him in that previous round but Stepien's
32:55 as i said he's always been on the borderline he's always been looking to get something done
32:59 i mean yeah for me Stepien's never looked in trouble or anything like that in there at all
33:05 yeah a couple of good shots have gone in but he's never looked particularly troubled i think he's
33:09 yeah he's probably more happy to survive but you know that's Boatty's the house the home fighter
33:17 it's you know he's the one who's everyone's turned out to watch who's everyone's getting
33:22 excited about him kind of back boxing and he's side with Sky and he's going to reignite his
33:27 career but he hasn't really fought like that i'm not saying you've got to be reckless and
33:32 bum ho but certainly want to see you go through the gears
33:43 started the round at a higher tempo but i'd say this ninth round and again just
33:51 looking for that jab straight through the middle of the guard bouncing off the forehead of Stepien
33:56 i mean from a tactic point of view it's the same as like Lawrence Akoli as we see with
34:05 Joshua as well in his last fight like the win in the round clearly and and you know you're doing
34:11 what you need to do without over-exerting yourself so is that a bad thing so sometimes
34:17 we as fans we just we want to we want to see the blood and guts and glow and we want to see
34:23 the knockout score you can't be measured and win comfortably because he is winning comfortably
34:30 now that is that's a true statement but you know also
34:34 i'm a little bit disappointed by his performance that's a true statement too because i wanted to
34:39 see more from him he's won for me he's won winning easily he looks really within himself
34:47 but i don't want to see him box with himself i want to see you put on a statement
34:51 no that's that's exactly right without wishing to get too deep and philosophical about it so
34:57 ostensibly conflicting statements can both be simultaneously true
35:04 i mean we're talking about the fighters earlier you know your arthur's yardage as easy as and how
35:09 did they perform your calum smith how would he have what performance do you expect from him and
35:13 you'd probably expect a stoppage and you know your yards maybe as well linden arthur you know maybe
35:19 so that's what that's what we're comparing them to and that's what you want to say i suppose
35:23 no that's fair that's absolutely fair
35:31 the main thing as always is to get the win it's not the only thing
35:34 and we've been outlining why that's the case looking for the right hand there stepien he
35:39 kind of half turned his back there but waxy didn't seem too happy about it but stepien
35:43 pursued him final few seconds of round nine
35:47 we have seen in the past with the waxy someone's done something he doesn't like and he comes back
35:52 with spite and yeah we were all waiting for there was another shot where he hits him on the back of
35:57 the head on the phone this is this is it this is going to ignite the fire but it just didn't
36:01 you know it's um it's very measured but it's almost a bit too measured you know i want to see a bit more
36:14 a bit more spike
36:20 a bit more
36:22 one with the wba two with the wbo 13 with the ibf
36:48 danisies with some very very tasty rankings as well two with the wbc and wba four with the wbo six
36:57 with the ibf so that trail that he's blazed over the last year or so we've seen him climb that ladder
37:05 rapidly
37:12 okay
37:20 so what we're going to see blancy look to really try and finish strong here or will he be happy to
37:34 box out the rounds pick up the win it's it's one of those isn't it it just feels like he's going
37:39 through the motions and you kind of get stuck in that you get stuck in that gear and you can't get
37:44 out of it and that's just what it feels a little bit like step in just trying to stay away here
37:50 but actually trying to put the pressure on but he's got good feet step in when you watch him
37:57 you can see as i said in the build-up he does everything really pretty well he knows what he's
38:02 about and when he's needed to find the open space of this 20-foot ring he's not had any particular
38:08 problem in doing so the problem with getting a knockout now is that that would take away from
38:16 the other nine rounds and you forget about the nine rounds and start thinking oh yeah
38:20 you got a knockout and that but you wanted to see you feel like he could have got it earlier
38:35 so
38:41 adding into the final minute
38:45 it's interesting we were talking about rankings yesterday
38:50 where we ranked our light heavyweights in in the uk i had broxy at three i put callum smith at one
38:58 establish your champion at the lower weight and then has done what he's needed to at
39:03 light heavy i'd answer the yard at two two world title fights acquitted himself very well against
39:08 Arthur Viterbi he was one punch away against Sergei Kovalev doesn't matter what people say
39:13 about how that fight finished that's a fact one more punch and he was there but he hasn't been
39:18 at that kind of level i've got to say as well Andy i don't think Stepien would last five rounds with
39:23 Callum Smith i'd be shocked if he did i don't know if Stiles makes fights and all the rest of it but
39:31 you know even so
39:32 looking to get on the jab people actually trying to put that right hand off the back of it
39:42 as we head into the final few seconds stephie and just setting his feet and looking to swing
39:46 and there goes about at the end of 10 rounds between these two so after almost 12 months
39:54 out the watsi is back he's got 13 minutes under his belt there and he did seem to box through
40:02 instructions attached to the corner and no point were really unhappy with what he was doing Virgil
40:06 Hunter see perfectly satisfied that his man was delivering pretty much what he wanted him to
40:13 yeah and they're the positives you know he has got now he's got rounds under his belt so you know
40:17 sometimes you come back after a long time i don't think you know get three or four rounds and you
40:21 think oh i'm tired or you know he can you can see that he was comfortable at no point he was in any
40:26 distress no you know and he was boxing to instruction so you know he does listen he was
40:32 applying what he was told and we just want we as fans and as spectators wanted to see more
40:46 that's Virgil Hunter they've been together for a little while now he's made that commitment
40:55 to go and train in San Francisco everyone wants what they want out of the fight as television
41:01 people and as working on television and as fans we want to see knockouts we want to see statements
41:07 we want to see fireworks but you know maybe team watsi don't want to don't want that they're not
41:11 bothered they want they've got their uh plan they've got their uh you know things they want to
41:16 get out of the fight maybe get 10 rounds with one of them you know maybe he wanted to see Joshua work
41:22 on you know his defense or this that new the things they've been working on at the gym inspiring he
41:28 wants to see that in a fight now because they probably know they're on the verge of getting a
41:32 title shot and he wants to he wants Virgil Hunter wants to see those things in a fight with the
41:38 small clubs without the head guards etc so you know from a from a fan than a television point
41:43 of view we feel disappointed but maybe Virgil Hunter's maybe he thinks it was spot on
41:47 quite possibly if you're the likes of you know the others that we've named
41:54 you're gaining confidence from that performance and thinking he's someone I want
42:03 ladies and gentlemen 10 full rounds we go to the judges score cards for the official decision
42:08 judge Howard Foster sees it 98 to 92 judge Mark Lyson sees it 97 to 94 and judge Michael
42:15 Alexander sees it 100 to 90 declaring a winner by unanimous decision and still undefeated
42:30 so Boaz gets it by unanimous decision 8-2
42:34 for Howard Foster six rounds to Boaz 3-2 Stepien a warning
