Croatia: Soldiers deployed as river banks burst and trigger heavy flooding
  • 11 months ago
Hundreds of soldiers have joined rescue workers in parts of Croatia after recent flooding.

Heavy rain over the last few days has led to several rivers bursting their banks, leaving some homes, roads and other buildings flooded.

Schools in the town of Obrovca were left underwater, while areas that escaped flooding were also left without electricity.

Around 300 army troops have been deployed to help some of the worst-hit areas.

Croatian prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said all necessary funding and aid will be provided by his government.
