A mum couldn't help but laugh when she tried to get her toddler to leave the house - and found out she smothered her hair in gel.

Julia Boatwright, 25, was hoping for a quick exit from her home in Perth, Perthshire.

But her efforts were blocked by cheeky daughter Bella, two - who had emptied half a tub of hair gel on her head.

Julia captured her daughter's attempts at a new hairstyle on camera.

And she can be seen proudly smiling and laughing as she shows off her work.

Julia, a stay-at-home mum, said: "I went to the bathroom to go to the toilet and when I came back she'd put half a tub of hair gel in!

"I was speechless, I just froze. But then it was kind of funny.

"She was very proud.

"I think she was trying to style her hair but ended up putting too much in.

"She's very mischievous - she terrorises her big sister, makes a mess, floods the bathroom etc."

Julia posted the video of Bella on TikTok, where it racked up over 25,000 views and gave viewers a chuckle.

One user said: "The noise when she's slapping it. I guess it could be worse - she could of cut it."

Another said: "Oh Bella. I left my little girl for a nap once and she covered herself in dairy free baby milk."

Thankfully for Julia, she's taken precautions to prevent Bella from getting her hands on the gel again.

She said: "I've kept it up high so she can't reach it now!"
