For the first time, the self-governed island of Taiwan has simulated Chinese attacks in its emergency drills. This comes in the backdrop of China’s simulation of precision attacks on key targets in Taiwan last month. Back then, Chinese Navy had launched simulated drills for a future attack on Taiwan in response to the island president’s meeting with the US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy. In last year August as well, China had conducted a mock drill preparing for invasion of Taiwan. The mock drills had included “tactical maneuvers” by the Chinese navy.
