00:00 Today I thought I would do a basic makeup tutorial, just some eye shadow, like an evening
00:04 look.
00:05 I thought I would go through what colors suit what type of skin type.
00:10 When I was in beauty school, they taught us that there are warm colored people and there
00:14 are cool colored people.
00:16 How you tell someone suits warm colors, like brown, coppers, cream colors, golds, those
00:27 type of people are warm colored and how you tell is if they have sort of like a olive-y
00:34 color to their skin and you can tell also by the veins in their hands, in their arms.
00:39 So if someone has like green veins on their arms, it means that they're warm colored.
00:46 But if someone has paler skin and has blue veins, then they suit cool colors better.
00:55 The palette makeup that I'm using today is eye shadows by Crown, the company Crown.
01:04 So the cool colors would be the blues, pinks, silvers and whites and warm colors would be
01:10 golds, copper, brown, a bit of yellow, the sort of warm orange-y colors like this one
01:18 here you can see.
01:20 And so that would suit more warm toned people.
01:25 Also other things that you can tell if you're warm or cool is if you have darker hair and
01:31 a darker complexion, then generally those people are warm colored.
01:36 If you have blonde hair and light colored eyes like blue or green, those types, then
01:42 you're more cool.
01:43 But where it gets confusing is if someone, like Devor has green eyes, but they might
01:49 have more warm tone to their skin, they might also be warm colored.
01:53 So it just depends.
01:55 And also Asians, people assume that just because Asians have dark hair that they are instantly
02:02 warm colored, but not necessarily.
02:04 A lot of Asians actually suit cool colors, so they suit pinks and blues.
02:09 They don't actually suit the warm.
02:11 So you really have to look at the veins in your arms.
02:15 You have to just mix and match and just test which colors actually suit you.
02:21 You will notice that if you wear colors that suit your skin tone, it'll generally make
02:28 you look younger and more vibrant.
02:30 But if you go with the opposite, then it actually makes you look more haggard and tired.
02:37 All right, so we will just get started.
02:39 Okay, so on Devor today, we might try a base color like this one right here, and we will
02:48 just paint that on the lids of the eye.
02:51 So just covering the entire eye lid.
02:56 So this is just like a base color to get a sort of nice undertone, I guess.
03:09 So in beauty school, we use brushes like this, and you can get that in your MAC range as
03:16 well, so it's just like a medium-sized brush with a round tip.
03:22 The next color I might use is a sort of whitey tone with a little bit of cream in it.
03:29 So this color here, and I'll use that under the brows to bring out the brows.
03:34 So you're just sort of feathering it lightly under the brows.
03:44 Once we've done that, we'll use a darker color to do a sort of V-shape.
03:51 So I might use a color like this one here.
03:56 You could go with this color, but I might use this because I think it's dark enough.
03:59 So I'll use this one, and you can actually blend it with a little bit of copper if you
04:04 like as well.
04:08 And what this technique is, is like the V. So you get to the base of the lashes, and
04:16 you sort of do a circle motion into the middle of the eye lid.
04:24 So you just do a sort of circle motion, building your way up.
04:33 And it's ever so subtle, so you're just bringing it up.
04:38 Grab a bit more with your brush and build that color in.
04:43 And there's a baby, as you can tell.
04:46 And then what we might do is use an even darker color, like this color, just to bring out
04:52 that V we're trying to achieve.
04:56 So just building it in.
05:07 So just building that color in a little bit more.
05:10 So this is more towards the ends of your eyes.
05:18 And if you feel like the color isn't blending in as much, or you just want a sharper look,
05:25 just keep building that eyeshadow into your brush, so it really picks up the color.
05:35 And you can even just blend it with the other browns.
05:39 And just keep building that in.
05:52 Okay, so now what we'll do is just put a little bit of silver into, blend it in, into the
06:01 middle of the eye and working our way through.
06:05 So just a bit of silver, and you can just mix it in with a little bit of the cream,
06:11 just to bring out, and just working it into the middle.
06:17 So you're just doing a fan motion like so.
06:25 So you're just fanning it through like this, like a windscreen motion.
06:37 So I might use this metallic black here, just to line underneath, just above the lashes
06:48 there.
06:49 And just bringing it up into the brow bone like that.
06:58 So just once again you're doing the V shape.
07:01 So just bringing it sort of above the lashes, feathering it on and bringing it up into,
07:12 just under the brow bone, V shape.
07:23 Layering it on.
07:25 So this is Black Swan from MAC.
07:30 It's a sparkly black colour, and I'll be using that for the eye, eyeliner.
07:37 So it's a good smudgy colour that you can just smudge in, and it gives a nice finish.
07:43 What I'll do is, I'll just work my way from the eye, inner eye to the outer eye, just
07:50 feathering it on.
07:51 And this stuff is great because it smudges.
07:52 So you can actually just blend it in with everything.
07:53 I'm making it thicker towards the end of the eye.
08:07 And then I might work under the eye.
08:15 And then, just under the eye, lightly, bring in the pencil, colour it in under the eye
08:22 to the middle, always recording the way under the eye.
08:29 I'll be using the Photo Ready Volume 3D by Revlon for the mascara.
08:35 Do you know what colour it is?
08:39 In black.
08:40 So.
08:41 And what I'll do with the mascara is I'll just feather it in.
08:47 And just feathering it in like so.
08:54 And this is our done look for the metallic copper brown colour for warm skin people.
09:02 So this is just a basic look that I did for Debo.
09:09 And so that is the finished product.
