00:00 Hi everyone, welcome back to my channel.
00:02 So in today's video I have an everyday makeup tutorial for dark skin/black women/women of
00:08 color.
00:09 Yes, all of that.
00:10 Also, in addition, I'm going to show you guys a wide range of products that work amazing
00:14 and spectacular on women of color.
00:16 And I'm going to give you amazing tips that you can take away from this video.
00:20 The number one most skin care problem darker skin tones have is hyperpigmentation.
00:27 So tip number one is color correct, girl.
00:30 This is going to be a lifesaver.
00:32 It really helps to give you a blank canvas, meaning that it's going to give you one tone,
00:37 which is then going to help you to apply foundation much easier and also you're not going to need
00:41 to use as much foundation as you usually would.
00:44 Whenever you're color correcting, make sure you apply the color corrector concealer before
00:49 your foundation or your regular concealer.
00:53 And I'm just using lightly stippling motions to dab in the color corrector to make sure
00:57 it blends all over my skin.
00:58 And if you guys can see, after we color correct, oh my god, it's like amazing.
01:03 We have a blank canvas to work with.
01:05 Then to go ahead to perfect the skin with some foundation, I'm going to go ahead and
01:08 use the MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation.
01:11 My color is NC50.
01:13 Now let's say you're a drugstore foundation kind of girl.
01:16 I have two drugstore foundations I recommend to you.
01:18 I'm going to recommend the Black Opal Liquid True Color Foundation and also the CoverGirl
01:23 Queen Collection 3-in-1 Foundation.
01:25 Get those foundations and the drugstore will have a wide range of colors for darker skin
01:29 tone.
01:30 Whether you're buying a foundation that is high end or drugstore, you might need to mix
01:34 two foundations together to get your perfect color after you color correct.
01:38 So keep that in mind guys.
01:40 Then to set under my eyes, I'm using a powder that is similar to my skin tone.
01:44 Now you can do this or if you have really oily skin, you can go ahead and use a transparent
01:48 powder that has no coverage but it's really going to mattify your face.
01:52 One of my favorites from the drugstore is this Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and it's super
01:56 inexpensive guys.
01:58 Now this is our finished base.
01:59 You can see my skin looks really even and smooth all over.
02:03 Oh yeah girl, work it!
02:06 Next moving on to the eye area.
02:08 So when it comes to eyeshadows, I absolutely love using red browns for the eyes on darker
02:15 skin tones.
02:16 So I'm just applying this in the crease area of my eyes.
02:19 Pretty much right in the eye socket of my eyes.
02:21 Now some of my favorite eyeshadows that I recommend to you guys are from NYX.
02:25 NYX is in the drugstore and they make amazing high quality eyeshadows.
02:29 You can usually find them at Target.
02:30 And lastly a high end palette that I recommend to you guys is the Urban Decay Vice 3 palette.
02:35 Also I really love the Maybelline Modern Metallics eyeshadow.
02:39 So I'm actually going to be using the Maybelline Metallics eyeshadow in Copper.
02:43 I'm just going to be packing this on the lid area of my eyes.
02:48 Then I'm going back in with my blending brush.
02:50 I'm putting this brush diagonal down.
02:52 And I actually learned this quick tip from Chrissy P. Link her channel down below.
02:57 This is just going to help to give you a smoother transition from the lid to the crease.
03:01 And now this next tip is extra vital.
03:04 Not a lot of women of color or dark skin tones bronze.
03:09 Usually you think just because you have a deeper skin tone you don't really need to
03:13 bronze up your skin because you're already "dark" in quotation that is.
03:16 But you want to go ahead and add bronzer back to your skin.
03:20 Because when you do apply foundation you create a blank canvas.
03:24 So all the color is taken out of your skin and you want to put that back in with makeup.
03:28 When it comes to blush, brown, plum, and copper shades compliment our skin tone so well.
03:34 This blush is from Black Radiance and it's called Toasted Almond.
03:38 So I'm just applying this to the apples of my cheeks.
03:40 Also I do recommend this ELF blush palette that you can find at Target also.
03:44 Then for my highlight I'm using this Black Radiance highlighter in Ginger Snap.
03:49 On medium deep skin tones I like to use a peach bronze highlighter and then on darker
03:54 deeper skin tones I like to use a gold shimmery highlighter.
03:58 And I usually highlight in two ways.
04:00 I use a fan brush which is the brush you see me using right now on screen to highlight
04:04 or I also use my hands.
04:07 Then lastly for lips this is probably one of the most important parts also.
04:11 You want to try and stay away from frosty colors.
04:14 So for example frosty nudes like you see on screen, frosty pinks like you see on screen,
04:19 the colors that really compliment darker skin tones are burgundy, red, plum, and lastly
04:25 browns which have become one of my favorites.
04:29 So thank you guys so much for watching.
04:30 I hope you all enjoyed this video.
04:31 I hope it was very helpful for you and I hope you learned something new because that's why
04:35 I made today's video for you.
