00:05 Hello everyone, Stéphane here. Welcome on the channel.
00:07 As I can see, I look scruffy. My beard is still there.
00:10 I'm not sure if it's because I am actually in France on holiday visiting family.
00:14 That's right.
00:16 So, I'm not going to be able to do these very long videos,
00:19 but I still want to post some typical French little things because I'm there.
00:23 I'm in France. So look at this.
00:25 Breakfast time and I wanted to talk about the four classic pieces of sweets
00:31 you can find in this French bakery, what we call Viennoiserie.
00:35 If you ever go in France, these are the four main ones you're going to find everywhere.
00:41 There's four things you want to try.
00:42 So first off, no need to present this one, the croissant.
00:47 French croissant, very basic. You can dip it in your coffee.
00:51 Lovely with jam and butter. An all-time classic.
00:54 The second one is the pain au chocolat or chocolate croissant.
00:59 It's called in some other countries like Australia.
01:02 Very famous, very good. That bar of chocolate inside a kind of croissant pastry.
01:07 It's very good to eat at breakfast.
01:08 The third one is called the pain au raisin, the raisin bread.
01:12 It's called also escargot or snail in Australia because of its shape.
01:16 Look, it looks like actually like a little snail type of thing.
01:19 So this is more like a brioche type of pastry.
01:23 As you can see, there is raisin and this yellow thing here, this is pastry cream.
01:28 There's actually layers of pastry cream and you just bite into it.
01:32 You kind of unroll it like that, you know, detach it.
01:35 And look at this loveliness inside. Look at that cream. Beautiful.
01:40 The fourth one is this one. That's one of my favorites.
01:43 It's less known. This is the chausson aux pommes.
01:45 It's actually a puff pastry that is filled with an apple kind of compote inside.
01:53 So it's very fluffy. It's very thick.
01:56 But if you break it inside, I'm going to take a little piece, I think.
02:01 It's got that lovely kind of filling inside.
02:09 It's absolutely very good.
02:11 But guys, this is just a very brief introduction to the French breakfast.
02:16 So if you ever go to France, try these four things.
02:19 Croissant, pain au chocolat, pain aux raisins and chausson aux pommes.
02:23 I'll see you soon for some real French products.
02:26 See you soon. Bye.
