CNN reports that people familiar with the matter say
that President Joe Biden's advisers are finalizing
the details of his upcoming reelection campaign.
According to an NBC poll released
on April 23, just 26% of Americans think
Biden should run for reelection.
The same poll found that 70%
of people think Biden should not
serve a second term as president.
Even among Democrats,
51% of those surveyed said
Biden should not run for reelection.
Other polls, including one by AP-NORC and
another by CNN, found similarly tepid support
for a second Biden term.
According to the NBC poll, almost half
of those who say Biden should not run feel
that the president's age is a major factor.
CNN reports that the president's
advisers believe those numbers won't
make a difference in the long run.
