Residents in Pollock were evacuated from their homes after an unexploded bomb was discovered.

The alarm was raised on 23 April while a bomb disposal unit attended the scene and removed the item.

Residents have since been permitted to return to their properties.

Next, TGI Fridays, the restaurant chain with premises on Buchanan Street and in the Silverburn centre, has come under scrutiny for axing its free meal policy for staff working longer shifts.

Labour councillors have called on the firm to reverse its decision, while TGI’s defended the move, saying they want to give more equitable benefits to all employees.

And in other news, Finnieston’s first food market is set to take place next month, featuring a wide range of vendors serving locally produced food with origins from across the world.

The monthly event will take place in The Hive on Argyle Street and is set to be a staple in the local community which is known for its food culture.
