Soon after being refused from getting a ticket to contest the upcoming state Assembly Polls, former Karnataka Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on April 15 informed that he will resign from the BJP on Sunday.

Further informing about the meeting he had with the BJP leaders, the former state CM informed that he was also offered ticket for his family members, however, he refused as his family members have no interest in contesting elections.

“They (Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and CM Basavaraj Bommai) met me. They told me that my family members can contest the election & I will be given other important position, but I refused,” Shettar said.

The Karnataka Assembly Polls are scheduled to be held on May 10. Meanwhile, the counting will be done on May 13.
