Glasgow headlines 13 April: Cyclist attacked by teens at Strathclyde Park

A 45-year-old male cyclist was attacked by teenagers in Strathclyde Park before having his bike stolen.

Police Scotland confirmed it was unprovoked and the victim was subsequently treated in hospital.

They are now appealing to the public for information.

Next, Glasgow City Council is moving forward with plans to accelerate the development of a proposed metro system.

The Clyde Metro was listed as a key priority by the Scottish Government and will take over 30 years to complete and has been described as a billion pound project.

Council Leader Susain Aitken said it will be a catalyst for major economic growth and development.

And in other news, the west end singer Lewis Capaldi has just released a single titled Wish You The Best ahead of his newest album.

The 26-year-old artist announced the release on social media, saying it was incredibly special to him and he couldn’t wait for fans to hear it.
