Israel has carried out a series of night-time airstrikes, first in the Gaza Strip and then in Lebanon. The Israeli military says it struck targets linked to the Palestinian militant group Hamas. It comes after more than 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel on Thursday, one of the biggest rocket attacks originating on Lebanese soil since 2006.
