Glasgow headlines 6 March: Maryhill man pleads guilty to shooting kids with BB gun
  • last year
A 57 year old man has pleaded guilty to chasing and shooting two children with a BB gun in Maryhill last September.

Paul Miller struck the boys aged 10 and seven after they threw a rock at his window before running away.

His gun and pellets have been seized by police.

Next, a 13 year old boy was charged after a laser pen was shone at a police helicopter in Lanarkshire.

No one was harmed from the incident, but Police Scotland issued a statement warning people to refrain from the dangerous activity as it can put lives at risk.

And in other news, the ownership of three city centre streets are to be transferred to Strathclyde University to pedestrianise and transform into a safer space for students.

The university is expected to invest over £13 million to turn land at Rottenrow, North Portland Street and Richmond Street into environmentally friendly amenity spaces.
