The Origins, the genesis of a style

After the Second World War, the nations reorganized into the various formations that will try to compete for the world for the years to come. On the one hand, the North Atlantic Treaty between the United States, Canada and a large part of nascent liberated Europe to oppose the Warsaw Pact made up of the Soviet Union and the countries of Eastern Europe beyond the famous Iron Curtain.
In those years there were many occasions for clashes between the sides and the world was close to the nuclear conflict between 1961 and 1962 . In 1961 with the Bay of Pigs crisis and in 1962 with the Cuban missile crisis.
In this context, the search for increasingly competitive weapons capable of overcoming the enemy's weapons plays a fundamental role for the supremacy of the reasons of one side over the other.
The objects of this research are also the watches which at the time represented an indispensable and irreplaceable tool in war operations whether land or air.
This is how the type 2 (CP-2) wrist chronographs were born in the 1960s.
These chronographs were immediately a huge success and were produced by numerous Swiss companies.
In particular, in Italy the CP-2 chronographs were also assigned to pilots of the Italian air force and were adjusted and customized by a company in Rome. Today these chronographs represent a coveted prize for all collectors in the world.
