U.S. McDonald's Offices to Shut Down Temporarily Ahead of Expected Layoffs
  • last year
McDonald’s ($MCD@US) is temporarily closing U.S. corporate offices this week as it prepares to inform employees of layoffs. The fast food chain instructed staff to work from home Monday through Wednesday so that it could virtually deliver the decisions. In January, the company announced that it would make changes to corporate staffing as part of a broader strategic plan. McDonald’s sales have remained steady despite a slowdown in consumer spending. McDonald’s employs more than 150,000 people globally in corporate roles and in its restaurants, with 70% of them located outside of the U.S.
