On March 29, the Punjab government informed the Punjab and Haryana High Court that despite best efforts Amritpal Singh has not been arrested till now. Justice N S Shekhawat was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by lawyer Imaan Singh Khara. He is seeking the release of the Khalistan sympathiser from alleged police custody. As per the police, Amritpal Singh is still on the run and efforts are on to nab him at the earliest.
