Star Wars The Force Awakens Copied A New Hope

  • last year
J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars borrows a lot from George Lucas’ 1977 original in ways both subtle and overt.
The story is ripped straight from the pages of “Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope,” right down to an even bigger Death Star that’s blown up by pretty much the exact same method.

A New Hope is apparent in nearly every frame of Abrams' The Force Awakens and he has defended the film by saying:

"We very consciously tried to borrow familiar beats so the rest of the movie could hang on something that we knew was Star Wars.”

Borrow? Or steal?
